You did a really good job on this bird. I spent 10 yrs in the Marine Corps as a Huey & Cobra mech. Those two birds are the best out there. Thank you.
I really appreciate that, it means a lot coming from someone with first hand experience!! Cheers!
Another fantastic build! My grandson and I always enjoy your videos! It's a big part of our time together! 🙂
I'm very humbled by that, thank you! What is your grandsons name, I'll give him a shout out in my next build video.
@@HammerheadModelMaking That would be awesome! His name is Trent and he is my Special Needs boy! We build snap kits together until he learns how to use the tools of the trade! My name is Kenny! That you very much Brett! 🙂
@@MoonwalkerModels My next full build video will be another helicopter, should be ready in about two weeks, I'll be sure to give you two a shout out in that one. I'm honored to be a part of that time you spend together, even if remotely. Until the next time Kenny!
@@HammerheadModelMaking Thank you so much! He will love that!! 🙂
It just occurred to me, if you send me an email at hammerheadmodelmaking@gmail.com with your address, I’ll send you and Trent some stickers and patches, if you want.
Brett
That was a absolutely outstanding build, you have done a terrific job, I would have thought the star insignia would have been 'low viz' congratulations on a job well done, best regards from Australia 👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much!
Great looking work
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you very much on your tutorial post of the UH-1Y Venom build. I have this kit which is yet to be built. I will be able to use your post as reference for the task. As as you've mentioned that this version of the Huey is one you admired the most, so do I. Bell did very well in improving the Huey development to this robust machine with everything 4 bladed main to tail rotors. I've seen this machine flying past the hangar where I work in at Honolulu International Airport. This Venom was booking along at high speed with a sound that sounded mean. I couldn't believe to see that this hybrid Huey moving so fast over the freeway heading toward the city. Your tutorial is so encouraging with passion of your model building.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video and hopefully it will be useful to you when you build your kit. Thanks for watching!
Hi Brett, You have done a sterling job there, I have to agree with you it's a great looking machine that lives up to its name.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Geez you're a building machine!! Very very cool build!
Thanks Kevin, keep in mind this was build a few months ago, I do have a bit of delay from when I actually get these videos up!
beautiful Huey -haven't seen the Hu-1Y before , smooooooooooooooooooth !
Its a Huey on steroids!
This helicopter looks really good amazing job!!! I dont know why the diferents brands don't make this helicopters in 1/32 scale also de bell 212 only you can find them in 1/48 scale.
Academy could easily do it in 1/35 scale, they already did the AH-1Z, and it shares many common components with the Venom.
What a build! I wish these kits were easier to find.
Thanks, I'm sure the molds will turn up again.
Very nice result. Shame Kittyhawk folded as they did some very nice helicopter kits
Hobbyboss has all their molds
Thanks for watching, I'm sure they'll show back up eventually, they usually do.
I really enjoyed the video, even tho i dont know much about helicopters, really nice one Hammerhead! 🦈🦈
Thanks man! In spite of its issues, I enjoyed this kit.
Great build, looks fantastic! For this kit I was too late on the party...now hoping for a 1/35 Venom release by Academy.. Best regards...
I’m sure these molds will turn up again, but yeah, it would be great if Academy did a Venom to complement their Viper!
Great work! Your skills help me to improve my own model kits. Thank you. 🤘🏼
I'm glad the videos are helpful! Thanks for watching!
@@HammerheadModelMaking your welcome! I will try to adept the chipping method for my HH 60 H Rescue hawk. It would be a pleasure you‘ll look around when it’s released 🔨 🦈
@@myplasticprojects Of course, drop me a line when its done, I'd be happy to check it out!
@@HammerheadModelMaking awesome! I‘ll start to record it in the next days. First I have to design and print my own decals 🤘🏼
Amazing models
Thank you!
Beautiful build
Thank you!
@@HammerheadModelMaking very welcome
nice work ill sure will try this kit out thanks for sharing your keep them coming
Thank you, will do!
Yaaay ! I really enjoyed watching your video all the way from start to the end ! I, myself also do scale modeling and have also a RUclips channel 😊 I have bought this kit a time ago and I was thinking of doing the Czech Air Force version, but unfortunately there are not so many reference pics around. I’ll see what I’ll end up doing 😅 thank you for your video and if you’re interested, I am pretty sure you’ll enjoy my videos as well 😊
Thanks for watching! I subbed to your channel.
@@HammerheadModelMaking thank you I really appreciate it 🤗
Awesome build! I had issues with the Vallejo aluminum as well.
Thanks for watching!
Magnifique !! Congrats ...
Thank you!
Great job and thanks
Thank you!
The funny thing is, you would miss all that extra plastic if it wasn't there, even if most of it isn't visible... It adds such a sense of weight to the model, which matches it's real life counter part, it's quite uncanny.
But then again, most of my exposure to this 'copter was through things like Apocalypse Now, The A-Team, Magnum along with other films and TV shows growing up.
good way of looking at it, thanks for watching!
The client? Do people come seeking your ability based off of these videos? Great build, thanks for sharing.
Most of my commission come from Instagram, but I've had a few reach out who saw me here in YT.
Maybe their 1:48 helis will be released again soon since their other kits are back on the shelves.
Yes, I was recently made aware that their molds were purchased by another company, so I would expect to see them back at some point.
Great build! I'm a Kittyhawk fan, they have their issues but you get a lot of high detail plastic. I heard someone had bought their molds?
Nice, I don't see too many fans of Kittyhawk. I believe someone else posted that Hobby Boss purchased their molds, I can't confirm, but usually molds don't travel too far. So, perhaps we'll see a reissue of these kits in the future.
All Huey’s are the best Huey’s. From the B to the y
Ha ha, right on!
Very nice, if I could only get to half of your skill level.
You'll get there, just keep at it!
Nicee
Thanks!
Is it a coincidence that all your helicopter builds are commissions?
No, they were all commissioned by the same person.
@@HammerheadModelMaking So do Helicopters not really feature as subject of personal interest?
@@MrRandomcommentguy Up until these commissions, not really, but after doing back to back CH-53s, I wanted one for myself! I now have a number of helicopters in my stash and I've picked up a few more helicopter commissions coming up soon.
