- Meghan Ct. Tree Worker Rescue (Shelton, CT) 3/26/24
SHELTON, CT - At 1:35pm on March 26, 2024, the Shelton Fire Department was dispatched to Meghan Court for the rescue of a tree worker stuck in a tree approximately 40ft up with a traumatic injury. Ground ladders were immediately placed and a rope system was assembled. Shelton’s Tower 3 also shot the bucket to the worker and rescuers. Members of the FD were then able to release the worker from his harness and place him in a stokes and into the bucket for lowering, all the while administering EMS care for his injuries. The patient was quickly transported to a local hospital, but has sadly passed due to his injuries just a few days later.

Good for you having enough respect for the victim to not show him.
What rescue?
I hear what you are saying. Although I would have ideally covered the actual rescue and it's technical operations as I always try to do for the betterment of the fire service and it's members, unfortunately for this scene, this is all I was comfortable covering out of respect for the victim. Every scene is different and you have to make certain 'calls' on what you are comfortable covering. I hope you understand.
@@FIREGROUNDIMAGES I understand that thank you for the coverage and it must’ve been hell getting somebody out of a tree that looks like what must’ve happened
@DavidGlaum You got it David. He sustained a traumatic injury while cutting and needed to be taken down. He was 40 ft up and in a bad location as far as access and high point options for the rescuers. They really worked hard and did the best with the situation they had.
