Great review! I was very tenpted to get the Evolve Stoke, but after finding out about the Exway Wave and then seeing this review im sold! Definitely getting one! 🤘
Float like a butterfly , sting like a wave is something I would alwayse say pretending that that it made sense. I disagree with a short boards being a less smooth ride on rough Terrain. What I always do with my regular skate is lift the front wheels and do Microhops and micro lifts over bumps and cracks. to conquer to terrain like that Cobblestone Road you better believe that I'll be hopping so fast that I'm basically levitating;) a over unexpected 1 ft wide potholes I've survived with this technique, shorter boards with tails make this much easier to accomplish. Finally a review of this board :). Totally agree with you, this is the best shortboard no question. idk why everyone else is still trying to use hubs on their shortboards...
Some of us are hub purists, not too fond of belts snapping and love the free-rolling ability that hub motors give. Road vibration does suck but it depends where you ride and how much flex your deck has.
If you're in the US and looking for a short board like this, but the power and range of a long board, I'd recommend the Build Kit Board Dual Motor. The thing is a beast.
I'd love to have that, but I already have my Onewheel XR. Not the tiniest of boards to carry around, and much more expensive, but it's sooo comfortable.
Hmm this is or the revel board xr kit(again) for my secondary/cruiser/loaner board. I do like the smart features and integrated lights but also like the flexibility of using almost any board with the revel board kit.

nice video !! Thanks again mr Kwan !! the traveling option would be the only good reason to get this board in my opinion, be ready for the 2-3 months waiting for the shipping , Exway has been really really bad with shipping recently.
Hi Daniel. Thanks for your video. I was going to go for the hub motors but then, I hear you said " If you bought the hub motors and realised the mistake it was...". Do you believe Belt driven is a better option ? Thanks
I also noticed the comment and was thinking the same... the problem is the maintenance... but Im more inclined to the belts... but I just want to know the specs on hub vs riot to make my final decision ^^
It’s been 10 Months since you blessed us with this awesome video, now do you still think it’s the best short board on the market? I am wondering how you would compare it to the Hoy St Booger and the recent Miles Board ? Thanks in advance for your time to respond. Cheers !!!
I haven’t tried every short board of course but this is the eboard I use the most frequently by far. Not saying it’s for everyone but it’s great for my situation. Never tried Hoyt St Booger. Miles Phantom is more of a short longboard, ie., it is drop-down and has no kicktail. Kind of resembles a downhill board. Certainly interesting but wouldn’t be using it the same way as most short boards.
@@DanielKwan I just learned something about the phantom. Happy to hear that you are using the WAVE a lot. Thanks, I am appreciating EXWAY so much due to the insights you share on your ATLAS video. Cheers, and hope to meet you at US group ride.
Love your videos man! Looking into getting an exway, it's going to be this one or maybe the Flex. Unsure at this point, but I'm sure I'll love whatever one I choose.
Great video Daniel as always! Some comments on it: I don’t think that the battery is less water resistant if it is fully sealed like other exway batteries. Where is the ESC on this board? Is it integrated to the battery? If that’s the case, it would be more expensive to purchase every new set of battery because the ESC is integrated with it.
Daniel mate, your videos are so so good. I'm actually envious of the boards and the video editing. You ever come to the UK we are going for a ride 😎 The wave literally held no interest for me until I watched this tbh.
Amazing board! Can you also make a video to test the cloud wheels over little puddles since some of my friends told me that the cloud wheels may be more unstable than the original wheels on wet road. Thank you!
Why is the hub motor a bad choice? Why do you think belt drive is better? I thought most people find hub motor gives more smooth ride and able to push? Is there any thing that i am missing?
I just lived in Shanghai for 2 years, but never got an electric skateboard while I was there. Do you think Jing'an and Xuhui and good locations for boarding? Any recommendations for good spots? Hi Daniel. Could you do a video that addresses the firmware update issue with exway? I’ve got a flex & when I received it it took hours to get the upgrade to go through. I had an esc issue 6 months later. Exway was great about helping me trouble shoot it and sending me a new esc once the problem was diagnosed. But once again i can’t get the upgrade to go through. They have been assisting me via email but the upgrade will not complete and the brick recovery will not work. Is there a way to connect your phone, board and remote on a new board or esc without doing the upgrade? From what I’ve read online this is a common problem. looks like the engineers decided to actually think during the design process, unlike most other e-skate companies
True, but most of them have been making gradual changes; things like larger battery packs and faster motors.
Boards are finally getting to the quality we all want and have the features we’ve all been asking for, love this board
