    This was from March 9, 1971, one day after Ali lost to Joe Frazier in “The Fight of the Century.”

    I thought Ali took more punishment in this fight than in any other in his career.

      P puh6frz Indeed Muhammad did but Joe took more punishment in this fight than Muhammad that...Joe had a lumpy head and both of his eyes were on the verge on being closed...Joe was put in the hospital for one month after the fight of the century with Muhammad and the doctor heavy advise Joe that he should seriously thinking about retire after taking so much punishment in that fight of century or he doesn't need to fight for much longer.

      @@speedclipz2 I have.
      That was more one sided because Ali gave nothing back in return but I think he took more punishment in his first fight with Frazier.
      Holmes clearly eased off on Ali, Frazier didn't.

    Sometimes it's difficult to separate the honesty from the BS when Ali is talking, but one thing he said I believe was his most honest assessment. He mentioned Joe Frazier's left hook as being one of the reasons he lost. That much is absolutely true. Frazier had a way of sending that left hook in in such a way that it was very hard to see it coming. He did that well in that fight against Ali.

      Ali didnt win, not because he wasnt a better, more complete fighter than Frazier, who was a very ,very strong ,determined fighter. Ali simply took the fight too early in his comeback, and against Frazier he needed to be more elusive and spend less time leaning on rounds , which in an interview with Cus D'mato a few uears earlier he spoke about. Frazier refuser d yo accept the belief that Ali could beat him and Ali underestimated Frazier's ability and determination.

    • @dankemo3169
      @dankemo3169 10 месяцев назад

      @@leonardcharles59 I mean he lost, right? For what reason I know very well. and whatever reason it could be he could work it out it is not like he was blind in his left eye, had a broken elbow, or had Parkinson's. if he did not prepare, it's his problem. That is how fights are won and lost. if you are here just to glorify Ali that is a different thing. by the way, I know you will tell me that you knew it. but for sure someone who writes a comment like this doesn't know that differently from Ali, Frazier was blind in his left, "My left eye went when I was young. I was working the speed bag and some steel went in the eye and scratched it to pieces. I was kinda blind in that eye." it was 1966-67. and by the way, his arm was also broken '' Frazier fell and hit his left arm on a brick. His arm was torn badly, but as the family could not afford a doctor, the arm had to heal on its own. He was never able to keep it fully straight again.'' in the end, both of them are Legends. but stop this Ali fan thing.
