I think I heard on an interview somewhere that he has so many flows/rhymes he came up with but cant use because the beats he gets don't fit them well enough. He gets a basic beat he likes, makes a flow, then molds both around eachother and adds to the beat.
"Little Engine" is his brain. The hook is meant to mimic the writing process. Create multiple syllable words that rhyme, then connect them at a later time and make punchlines/metaphors/similes/etc out of them. During this song you'll notice he murders a streak of bars, and then in others he's just trying to get into his next idea. So abstract that its amazing. Literally telling future rappers to just start writing and it'll lead to genius. Well done Marshall
