That's what makes it great. Way back during the SSLP & MMLP when he was getting hate for his lyrics he tried to explain it was a gimmick and no different than a character from a movie or show and if people can't tell a difference between the two then that's on them. So to piggyback on that...LIKE your favorite movie or show that you rewatch many times and find something new that's what his music has been like to so many of us.
