Having said that I also hate when people attack an actor for their character or storyline. It makes absolutely no sense! Even attacking the character in this instance makes no sense. It isn't April's fault that she simply exists, she is just a kid. The fault lies at Luke's feet for how he goes about things, well that and the show runners writong the storyline to begin with.

I didn't have a problem about the daughter or even that Luke wanted it to be just a him/daughter thing for a little while, but they took that and went WAAAYYY overboard with it. Completely changed Luke's dynamic; he felt like a different person. I hated it.
Makes sense though, he's just found out he has a kid who's a long way through her development, so f course he's gonna need time to come to terms with that and adjust to her being in his life. It's not surprising that he'd want things to stay the same with at least one part of his life. But the writers did a terrible job
He just found out he had a basically grown ass kid. No one is entitled to know until he’s had time to process that fact, he’s barely had any time to even bond with her and Loralei is already nagging
I hate it so much. That he didn't tell her and that she freaked out so much and mostly that they ended up breaking up. If you do the will they won't they for so long, either let them stay together or make it a reality didn't live up to fantasy and they're too different
Maybe I'm biased, but I never liked April as a character. She was kinda shoehorned in and wasn't that great. I found her storylines pretty boring and ended up skipping most of them. Not to mention they had her mother painted as a sort of villain too, it was just a sour storyline to me.
I love how everyone is talking about this is the worst decision they ever made 😂😂 in order for a show to keep a watcher interested especially a show that goes past 4 whole seasons like this one their needs to be conflict and drama if their was nothing but them being sunshine and rainbows all the time you would get bored as hell and uninterested 😂😂
This could of easily been resolved, so dramatic & dumb that they broke up but at the same time I’m not exactly surprised Lolerai’s character was annoying & just the worse when it came to dating, she had a lot of potentially good men throwing themselves at her and she treated them poorly always changing her mind and being very dramatic. Like when she just decided to run away from Max and call off the wedding just like that, Max didn’t deserve that even if she didn’t love him. I thought she was a good mom & a good friend but in terms of someone to date absolutely not, hate the way they wrote her character when it came to that. Also, I do understand why she was so upset at Luke but they could have figured it out but then she went & slept with Christopher. Anyways, I’m on season 7 and just found from the comments that she marries Christopher so I’m bummed out about that 💔 I think most of the audience wanted Luke to be the one. Through out the whole show I was waiting for that to happen…. 😒
Okay I don’t hate April because she didn’t have anything to do with it but I do not like her mother Anna because she is the one who was partly responsible for breaking Luke and Lorelai up, and I’m not going to lie but I partially hate Luke for not standing up to Anna about his relationship with Lorelai.
Producers want to sell more episodes on a successful show so they invent drama, change the personality of established characters, add improbable situations and ruin the show. I.e. Rory became so hateful, Luke became the opposite of what he had been throughout the first years, Lorelei reacted like an immature teenager. Results, at least for me? I loved the show and now somebody mentions it and I say “Yuck!”
Well, he didn’t tell you because he is still processing it. Surprise you have a daughter you did not know about. Lorelei mouth would make it harder to process.
i confess now that i hate luke. they’re terrible for each other and both lack the proper communication skills for a relationship. like he could have just told her this. he could also tell her he likes her much sooner but instead just revels when she’s heartbroken by a dude cuz he wants some
I still don't understand why it was a big deal that Luke had a daughter...and why Lorelai was so upset about Luke not telling her. She never told him lots of things. Hypocrites.
This would've made more sense if April was Rachel's daughter. I get it if they couldn't bring the actress back, but if they wanted conflict, April should've been Rachel's daughter, and Luke wouldn't even have to keep it secret for there to be some kind of plot. It wouldn't even have to drag out for as long as it did, it could've been a love triangle plot that spans out for 1-2 episodes but ultimately doesn't end with Luke and Lorelai splitting
Honestly since luke is great, id find a way to get over this. 2 months isnt a long time for someone so emotionally reserved and dysregulated like luke.
But it isn't just this. Lorelai does move past this but the following episodes show Luke treating her terribly, shutting her out of his life and totally disregarding her feelings. The Luke of the previous seasons would have never treated Lorelai like this.
I hate April. She ruined my life. I WANTED LUKE AND LORELEI TO BE MARRIED THEM KISSING OUT OF ALL THE GUYS SHE WENT THROUGH FELT THE MOST RIGHT!! And I absolutely hated the Chris and Lorelei thing. Besides Jason Styles, Christopher might be the worst character in the whole show. I hate him so much. He acts like he’s on his period or something 24/7, he acts like HE should be the one to be upset even though he’s the one who left his child, I hate his face, I hate his buzz cut, and he’s a total man child. Get him out of my face. I want Luke back.
I just realized Luke is the only guy I've ever seen wear a hat backwards who clearly was NOT trying to look cool. It's as if someone else put it on him as a joke and he physically couldn't take it off for some reason.
After a certain point, this series slowly but surely became both a train wreck and a hypocritical work of fiction in so many ways. Shows like this give storytelling a bad image for the eyes and left a bad taste in the mouth.
They were engaged. I think her reaction was pretty calm actually. Imagine walking into your fiancés workplace and there’s a child telling you that they’re (insert your fiancés name’s) child and you go to your fiancé and he says it’s been 2 months since he found out he had a child!
@TaylorSwiftisFearless no way. Paris is a bad actress, everyone sucks in that town and the banter and dialogue is boring. I feel like I'd rather listen to Taylor Swift on repeat which would be another form of hell itself
But tbh it was sort of a suprise to Luke so I think he was still processing but I’m not saying Lorelie wasn’t unreasonable, but if you watch the show you know it takes luke ages to process things. But overall whoever had the idea for the April situation I will hunt you down, bc I had to go through 10 stages of grief watching lorielie and Christopher get married and then break up and then have to wait for Luke and Lorelie to get together again.

Makes sense though, he's just found out he has a kid who's a long way through her development, so f course he's gonna need time to come to terms with that and adjust to her being in his life. It's not surprising that he'd want things to stay the same with at least one part of his life.
But the writers did a terrible job
I remember this like it was yesterday 😔
the first time i watched this series and got to this plot- i was SHOOK to my core 😮
This killed ME 😭
She’s cute
Yeah this is dumb. I hate him apologizing because ur not sorry because you had 2 months to say something and had no reason to not say anything
Lying by omission is still lying. Cowardly.
He just found out he had a basically grown ass kid. No one is entitled to know until he’s had time to process that fact, he’s barely had any time to even bond with her and Loralei is already nagging
@@BriannaAyala-od7de LORELEI WAS PRACTICALLY HIS WIFE!! We all know damn well Rory would be the first to know then Luke.
Oldest writers trick in the book. Here comes the shark! Everybody jump!
what episode is this?
i hate how they broke up omg! but luke was trying to tell her but every time he tried she went off topic or said she couldn’t talk
I hate it so much. That he didn't tell her and that she freaked out so much and mostly that they ended up breaking up.
If you do the will they won't they for so long, either let them stay together or make it a reality didn't live up to fantasy and they're too different
I felt this was so random and don’t get me started on April’s mom 🙄🙄🙄
Ugh. FauxRory was such an awful plot point. 🤬
I just came across this and I’m on this ep
Huge shock! Can imagine
Wait, what episode is this
Maybe I'm biased, but I never liked April as a character. She was kinda shoehorned in and wasn't that great. I found her storylines pretty boring and ended up skipping most of them. Not to mention they had her mother painted as a sort of villain too, it was just a sour storyline to me.
Not telling Lorelai about his daughter was a red flag she should've just left him right there
What season?
I love how everyone is talking about this is the worst decision they ever made 😂😂 in order for a show to keep a watcher interested especially a show that goes past 4 whole seasons like this one their needs to be conflict and drama if their was nothing but them being sunshine and rainbows all the time you would get bored as hell and uninterested 😂😂
April looks more like Lorelai than Rory does 😅
Wich Episode
This was one of the most hackneyed plotlines on the show. Good lord.
Aww
What episode
April was so unccerarry😓😓
I loved April and hated the fandom for their treatment of her.
I still love the show but the last season wasn’t great
Bay kennish
Well, he didn’t tell you because he is still processing it. Surprise you have a daughter you did not know about. Lorelei mouth would make it harder to process.
And then the season ended. Diabolical cw strikes again
They had zero chemistry
That was ridiculous that he wouldn't tel her straight away.
Sooo hated luke for this
i confess now that i hate luke. they’re terrible for each other and both lack the proper communication skills for a relationship. like he could have just told her this. he could also tell her he likes her much sooner but instead just revels when she’s heartbroken by a dude cuz he wants some
I must have missed this! Wth
wait who was her mother
I hated this whole storyline. I loved the little girl and love the actress, but I wish they would have had her be his niece or something else.
Dumb storyline
Is it dude from Saw?
She was such a terrible addition. Adorable kid though--badly written
this storyline sucked
I still don't understand why it was a big deal that Luke had a daughter...and why Lorelai was so upset about Luke not telling her. She never told him lots of things. Hypocrites.
April and Anna 😬👎 Nardini🥴😤
I swear the writers of Gilmore girls hate all the characters and want us to hate them too
What's the problem?? She a kid Rory and slept with multiple men? And this is the deal breaker 😂
There’s a lot of people talking about Lorelai should have left Luke over April, when she constantly lied throughout their relationship. 😭
FOREVER WILL HATE LUKE FOR THIS
I HATE HER OMG I CNAT SHE RUINED THE WHOLE FREAKING PLOT
Bay
😊
i just got the biggest and the worst spoiler ever..
Unpopular opinion but Luke’s daughter is one of the most irratating characters in the show
Is that Vanessa Marano???
Yeah
This would've made more sense if April was Rachel's daughter. I get it if they couldn't bring the actress back, but if they wanted conflict, April should've been Rachel's daughter, and Luke wouldn't even have to keep it secret for there to be some kind of plot.
It wouldn't even have to drag out for as long as it did, it could've been a love triangle plot that spans out for 1-2 episodes but ultimately doesn't end with Luke and Lorelai splitting
Vanessa Marano??? Wtf
@@Carolinagirl1028 yea i may have forgotten some details
luke's daughter was awful for the show and i hated her
Lorelai is so spoiled 😂
She’s spoiled? SPOILED BECAUSE SHE WANTED THE RIGHT TO KNOW HER FIANCÉ HAD A CHILD?!
Nah, you're just deranged. She wasn't spoiled that she thought her fiance should tell her sooner about having a kid
I just got the biggest spoiler EVER!!!
Don't worry, she's an irrelevant character who disappears after a few chapters.
@@champigranja1179 hahaha I've finished the whole series and a year in the life now! 😂
Grown men don’t wear their hat backwards.
THANK YOU, yes
Who cares. He's doing his thing.
I just realized Luke is the only guy I've ever seen wear a hat backwards who clearly was NOT trying to look cool. It's as if someone else put it on him as a joke and he physically couldn't take it off for some reason.
Luke does. You should see that mf the other way around.
He wares it so he can avoid hair nets he ought to wear in the kitchen if the dinner
Two months before telling girlfriend you have a daughter you just found out about is not that bad. Had to figure things out.
After a certain point, this series slowly but surely became both a train wreck and a hypocritical work of fiction in so many ways.
Shows like this give storytelling a bad image for the eyes and left a bad taste in the mouth.
You know if it was female character hiding a kid till she was sure in what whe wanted to do noone would batted on eye
that’s hilarious.
@@nightmare-fuel also true
@@dragon22214 I was being sarcastic
@@nightmare-fuel ohh sorry lo
That’s not true. I would’ve felt the same way. Stop trying to feel oppressed.
Stupid thing to be mad over
They were engaged. I think her reaction was pretty calm actually. Imagine walking into your fiancés workplace and there’s a child telling you that they’re (insert your fiancés name’s) child and you go to your fiancé and he says it’s been 2 months since he found out he had a child!
April was a lot more engaging to me than Rory. April was a STEM girly and i’m here for it!
Sorry lib show, both daughter and granddaughter were O.G karens both very very high maintenance in the worse way.
Omg this show sucks. The acting is horrible and i hate the girl that plays Paris
Take that back.
@TaylorSwiftisFearless no way. Paris is a bad actress, everyone sucks in that town and the banter and dialogue is boring. I feel like I'd rather listen to Taylor Swift on repeat which would be another form of hell itself
You hate Paris because her acting is good.
