    Feng shui has two factors:
    Directions (north-south-east-west)
    Colors (colors are based on directions)
    Correct me if am wrong. For example if the front door is facing south then bright colors come in to enhance fame.
    Looking forward to discuss these factors in a future link.
    Thanks for sharing I enjoy your simplicity and informative slides.

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  2 года назад +2

      There are different schools and methods of Feng Shui, those factors you speak of are true for some methods but not all. In the Black Hat or Western method (for which I practice) the bagau map is based on the position of your front door in relations to the house as opposed to directions.
      Certain aspects you can layer together though so if you want to paint a front door in a certain color to reflect your personal residence, you could do that as well, but also work to make sure that you have a good balance of elements around your front door/front yard to your home.
      I am glad you enjoyed my slides and found it helpful.

    I think I might be confused... So, I was checking out the other Bagua method and according to that, my entrance is on the opposite side (South/South /west) so fame and relationship.
    If I use this method is completely different, not sure what to make out of it.
    Also, I have another issue (?) My little house, an under roof small house built on my parent's terrace, has the bedroom (with a door to the terrace, so it counts as an entrance, but I'm thinking about not using it for that anymore) and... weird thing, but we didn't have a choice while building it, due to the pipes & co, the bathroom is the separating room in between the bedroom and the kitchen which leads via an opening to the living room where the second entrance is.
    A mess :)
    So here are my questions_
    1) Should I consider the plant as you showed it so now my bedroom is more or less all in the knowledge section, my bathroom and kitchen overlap in the career one and my living room/ gym /work area (all in one) falls into the helpful people and travel?
    2) What if the center is in the middle between the kitchen and the bathroom? (the house is rectangular and "long")
    3) Bathroom: To me personally, even if I have read that the bathroom is "bad" if it's in the middle, I actually love that space, is one of my favorite for relaxation, and I will turn it into a small Spa. I spend a lot of time in there taking baths, relaxing, taking care of my body and mind etc. The fact that it's in between the bedroom and the kitchen is definitely not ideal as it has 2 doors and also the proximity to the kitchen, but It's just a small kitchenette where to cook and I will eat in the living room most of the times.
    So, all in all... Is my house truly that bad for feng shui? I love these things, been in Asia for many years (living in there) and I can feel the energy of a place/house immediately.
    Sorry for the long message, I'm new to Feng shui and it's rather complicated :)

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  2 года назад +1

      If it is exact, then it is missing. You can also get a sense of confirming this if you evaluate what has been going on in life since living in that house as usually it will reflect the missing parts. But as I stated in my video, just because an area is missing, doesn't mean you won't have that, it just may be a bit of extra effort to have it flowing and/or lessons needed to learn in that area of life which are beneficial for you on a more spiritual level.

    That was really helpful with these small important details ( tips).
    But here i have a question please, there are some videos says that the base of the bagua has to be on the door ( no matter where is the location of the door) and other videos says that the base of the bagua has to refer to the north. And here I'm not talking about the classic feng shui that cares too much about direction but im asking about the western version of feng shui.
    Thank you so much for sharing.regards

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  4 года назад +1

      Hi Amani. Thank you so much for your comment. I am glad the video was helpful with tips, those little details can make a big difference. To answer your question, basically from the Western Feng Shui standpoint, the base front door (location, not direction) and north are in some practices essentially the same thing. If we look at the root of the Bagua map, and the ancient Chinese celestial animals, this is why some people refer to the bottom of the bagua as the "north" for the "career" area. Here are two links below that might help give you some insight into that. I will also say that there are many schools and methods of Feng Shui out there. They all get you to the same place, they all just take a slightly different route to get there. There is no right or wrong way, follow your intuition to be guided to the school and method that feels right for you. Good luck on your Feng Shui endeavors! - Heather

    Good afternoon! Thanks for the great video. I have a question- I live in an apartment, we go in through both the front door and the garage. the way it is set up is when you enter the front door you can walk straight through the house and out the back door and onto the fenced in patio, you then continue walking through the patio and you will enter the garage, everything is connected forming one large rectangle. i use the patio and garage regularly, i walk through both several times a day when taking my four dogs out back to potty. and we regularly play out on the patio. should I include both the garage and patio when applying the bagua map to my floor plan?

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  8 лет назад +2

      Hi Brooklyn, Thanks for the note. To answer your question...If the patio is a true outdoor space (meaning it is not enclosed for all year round living space use), then you would NOT count the patio or garage in your main Bagua map, just Bagua the actual house.
      Now, that being said, in addition to laying down the bagua on the main floorpan of the home you can also lay it down in addition over the lot/property of your home. So in that case you could consider the whole part, so spruce up the garage too and a few cures there as desired. But the strongest effect and impact will be inside your main house area. Hope that gives some insight. Thanks for watching. have fun with your Feng Shui.

    Thank you. Are familiar with 'southern hemisphere' (Australia)? very confused.

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  5 лет назад

      This application of the bagua map does not depend on direction or where in the word you are located. Dealing with the 'southern hemisphere' is only applicable if you are using another school of Feng Shui method. There is no right or wrong, all schools and forms of Feng Shui help you get to more balance and harmony in your life. If you choose the Black Hat or Western method of Feng Shui you would lay it down based on how you enter the front door as I teach in the video. If you want to use classical Feng Shui and lay the bagua down by direction you would want to use the hemisphere aspect to make that determination. If you resonate with that more, here is a good article that explains the hemisphere aspect:
      www.thespruce.com/apply-feng-shui-bagua-in-southern-hemisphere-1274410
      But what I might suggest is to lay the Bagua down based on both styles and then assess each one to see if it is relating to your actual life. Often you can see or feel which way resonates with you. I hope that answers your question. Good luck on your Feng Shui endeavors. - Heather

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  6 лет назад +2

      Hi Angie! Thanks, glad you liked the video and you are very welcome. As for your front door, yes, you always want to use what the true front door is to your home to place the Bagua from regardless of which one you enter. If a guest were to come to your home for the first time where would they go? The shared front door I would imagine. So map your bagua from there. When you do it, you can get as sense of how things fit in your life. Also, it's a good idea to use the front door at least every once in awhile, even just to get the mail or go for a little walk, to let some energy flow in that way.

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  4 года назад +1

      In this method/school of Feng Shui, we lay the Bagua down based on the position of the front door as opposed to the direction of it. So you would stand at your front door and place it down based on how you were standing there looking into your house no matter what direction your door is facing. But there are other forms of Feng Shui that will lay it down differently based on your compass direction, there are some other videos that go over that. Often I suggest to lay the Bagua down based on both styles and then assess each one to see if it is relating to your actual life. You can usually see or feel which way resonates with you :-)

      Hi Tania - It depends on what School of Feng Shui you are following. In the Black Hat/Western philosophy the Bagua is always placed based on the position of your front door, as opposed to the actual compass direction, so the directions would not apply in this case. But if you are following other schools/methods of Feng Shui the southern hemisphere would be different, and yes, NE, N, NW. There is no right/wrong to what style of Feng Shui you connect to or feel connected to. Here is a good overview if you are going to be doing the Bagua using directions and the difference between hemisphere's.
      www.thespruce.com/apply-feng-shui-bagua-in-southern-hemisphere-1274410
      But what I often suggest is to lay the Bagua down based on both styles and then assess each one to see how it relates to your actual life, as our homes are a mirror reflections of what is going on. Often you can see or feel which way resonates with you and your family. I hope that gives you some insights. Good luck with Feng Shui endeavors.

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  4 года назад

      Hi Ash. I am glad you enjoyed the video.
      I am not sure I know what you mean by a shared H house. If you mean by shared house you are living with roommates, I would focus first on your own room as you can lay the Bagau down on just one room based on where the door to the room is, so can start with that. If it is the whole house, It depends on where the door is and it may be a bunch of extensions.
      The Bagua map is just one tool that we use to incorporate Feng Shui into our environments, but there are some situations in Feng Shui depending on the layout where it may be beneficial to work on each room individually or to look at some other aspects of Feng Shui like balance of elements, furniture placement and flow of energy through each room, the outside of the house and many other facets. Hope that gives you a little insight. Thanks again for watching the video.

    Hi Heather, If your balcony has a roof but is not enclosed, do you still include it? Our back balcony is basically the length of the house and we use it all year round. Also if you enter your front door and hit a wall and have a door to the left for living and bedrooms to the right, would you keep the Bagua map facing the front door? Thanks so much.

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  3 года назад

      Technically you would not include an outdoor balcony on the Bagua itself, but if you lay the Bagua over the lot of your home, that will give you some insight into where the house and thus the balcony so can anchor in a little extra energy if desired.
      As for hitting a wall part upon entrance, that is a bit more complicated to just advise from a description such as that, I do not know if those are actual doors or just hallways, entryways and how the rest of the house lays out. I do offer virtual consultations for those interested or my eGuide on Bagua Maps. However, what I normally suggest for a DIY method is to try the Bagua map both ways and see what kind of insights you get. In Feng Shui your home is a mirror reflection of who you are and what is going on in you life at any given moment, so very often you will be able to see how the Bagua being layed down reflects life one way vs. the other and can figure that out.

    And another question please. SW in my bedroom is the wall with my bed and closets. I don’t have space to put love objects. I can put a shelf above my bed (above my head to be exact).

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  6 лет назад +2

      Hi there. To answer your questions, yes, when you have a shared house, you can place the Bagua on just your room and put items in the relationship corner of your own room.
      But it does help to be aware of what is going on in the relationship area of the whole house. So if that is in your grandparents room, you can maybe help them make sure that the relationship area part of the whole house which is in GP's room is clean and you can also add things there too which will help everyone in the house to have better relationships. But first focus on adding to your room.
      But the other question, it is not a good thing in Feng Shui to have anything above your head so do not put a shelf there. If that is where you sleep and you want to make enhancements, be creative! Maybe get sheets or pillowcases in the color of that area of the bagua. So if you are talking about the relationship area, maybe get some pink pillows (and have 2 matching pillows!)
      Also you can add enhancements inside the closet. It does not have to be on the outside.

      @HeatherMelcer  6 лет назад +1

      I would do two main things. One thing to note is the Bagua map can be placed over each room individually within a house, so bagua your room and decorate accordingly. The second thing is to take note of how the Bagua lays out for the whole apartment just to have the awareness of where each persons room is and what overall energy they may anchored in. And try to get everyone to keep their rooms clean and organized as it's good for everyone! And then of course in the common areas of the apartment you can try to decorate together to enhance the different overall areas of the Bagua.

    So how do you offset the missing energy?

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  Год назад +1

      There are many different ways, but just to give a few ideas....you can lay the Bagua down on each room individually, so enhancing that area of the BAgua map on each room individually can be beneficial (though being mindful to maintain balance with regards to what is placed there in relation to the overall Bagua with regards to the element cycles); square it off, add a patio or something like that, or even just something to mark the corner with something special. this isn't always possible with apartments and structures like that, so placing a mirror that helps kind of "push" the wall back in those cases is a possibility.

    how do i apply the bagua if i have a house with more than 2 floors and each floor is different than the other and have other entrance doors for different areas.

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  7 лет назад +3

      Hi Adriana. When you have more than one floor, there are two approaches. One is that you lay that bagua down on each level independently based on how you "enter" that level. As if the top/bottom of the stairs is the "door". Just be aware of twists and turns. The other thing we consider is that sometimes if all the common areas are on one level and it is just bedrooms on another level for example, and those bedrooms each belong to someone different in the family, you might focus on the bagua map for the whole floorpan on the main level, and then the bedroom level you would want to focus on overall good bedroom FEng SHui and laying the bagua map over each room individually. Hope that gives some insight. Good luck with your Feng Shui endeavors!

    Hi thank you for the video, how to map each room with bagua? I heard its go by door in each room just bit confused. I mean if need to check each room is according to bagua map what is key point to see. Thank you

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  5 лет назад +1

      Start with laying the Bagua map down on the WHOLE floorpla and work with that, that is the most important of what is happening in your overall life and you can start making adjustments there for improved energy.. Then after you do that, if you want to lay the Bagua Map down on each room, the key point look at is whatever area you are working on in your life. ---- For example, if someone is working on finances in their life, it is helpful to look at the Wealth corner in the whole house. After that, you could check the wealth corner in each room.

    Video is a simplistic explanation and great to explain the basics, this was GREAT, I wish I had stopped there.
    The video gives the impression at the end that buying the downloadable information was more detailed. I purchased this for $37 and downloaded. It was just as simple and did not have much more information than what can be found for free anywhere on the internet. The download is 37 pages long and almost 50% of each page is a giant lifestyle image that does not necessarily correspond to the content on the page (child blowing on a flower), 3rd to last page is more info on the author and the last 2 pages are photo credits and has nothing to do with the subject matter.
    The message mentioned that the download would have floor plans. I made the gross assumption (my fault) this meant there were various floor plans to use to determine your own home floor plan to lay the map over. This was incorrect, there are no more floor plans other than what has been drawn (sketched) and shown in this video.
    In my opinion the download is not worth $37 and I take responsibility in this poor purchase decision. Hopefully I can save someone from making the same mistake. The video is GREAT, then go search the internet more information.

      Dear @DondeAnnette,
      Thank you for taking the time to comment. I have had many people that have found my eGuide very helpful and given them results, I am sorry to hear that was not your experience. I wish you would have reached out directly to share your concerns, I am always happy to see if there is any additional assistance or tips I can provide. I did want to address a few inaccuracies in your comments however.
      First, there is only 1 floorplan in the video that is also in my eGuide. There are various other floorplan sketches in the PDF that each contain insights on how to apply the BAgua to those shapes in order for the reader to then be able to apply it to their own floorplan based on the various shapes of their own home. As for pages that have full size images, my eGuide is only available for sale on my website (fengshuibaguamap.com/feng-shui-bagua-map/ formerly EmpowerYourHomeNow) on which the sales page has clear images of what the inside pages look like which is magazine style, and as one reads through the guide in detail the images I, and others have felt, are reflective of of the material. I will adjust the page count to remove the photo credits, that was from a prior edit, but I always properly provide copyright attributions where required.
      I do wish you good luck on your Feng Shui endeavors and that you find the assistance you are seeking. I have also reached out via email. Thank you.
      Sincerely,
      Heather Melcer

      Hi Kozy. If you go to the video at about 1:35 minutes in, it will show a rectangular shape. You basically just divide the rectangle into 9 equal parts like in the video.

    I have two entry doors that are equally used (not attached to garage). Once faces West and one faces South. Do I place the map according to one of these door placements or place it to true North/South?

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  8 лет назад +1

      Hi Kim. In the Black Hat method, you place it using your front door position in relation to the house (standing at your front door as you are looking inside) as opposed to a compass direction. And while you may have two doors you equally use, you would use the door that was built as the actual front door of the house. When you lay it down that way, think about what is going on in those areas of your home in correlation to your life and you can usually see that it makes sense.

      A similar example of why there are so many schools of Feng Shui, is to think about the field of massage. There are many types of massages out there, swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, lomi lomi, sports massage, etc. They are all very different, however they all get you to the same place of being in balance and harmony in your body, they all just take a slightly different route to get there. The same is true of Feng Shui, coming from many ancient masters they all take you to the same place, just a different route to get there. But in terms of them contradicting one another, they best thing to do is find one method of Feng Shui that you resonate and stick to that method.

    Walking up to my second floor I hit an immediate wall, with the loft being to the right and all the bedrooms and bathrooms to the left and behind me. I'm not sure how to orient the map in this case. Any tips?

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  7 лет назад

      That can be a bit challenging in general without seeing a floor plan or being there. However, if the upstairs bedrooms all belong to different members of the family, you can also lay the Bagua map down on each room individually. This is a situation where you would want to do this. Sometimes I do that in consultations and focus on the energy within each room. The door to the room would be considered the entrance. Also Google around about Command Positions in Feng Shui for supportive bed placement.

    What means if u have windows in the love and relationship area?

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  6 лет назад

      Hi there. Sorry for the delayed reply. If you do have windows there, you want to make sure that your windows are clean and clear so that you can "see" your relationships clearly. If there are very many windows, or so much glass like floor to ceiling windows for example, that could be a little too much water element and energy going out the window you around the relationship energy. I would make sure to add more earth element there to balance out the glass (add things made of stone or ceramic, photos of mountains; anything in the colors of yellow, earth tones represent the earth element)

    why there are so many different Feng Shui videos on vision board? it's confusing

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  4 года назад

      You mean different videos on the Bagua Map? It is because there are different schools/methods of Feng Shui. The ultimate goals of harmony and success, and though many have common routes, they all take a slightly different route to get there. There is no right or wrong to what method someone connects to if it helps them in their life. Often if someone is confused about something I suggest to map out the Bagua according to different methods and then look at those areas and then think about those areas of your life. In Feng Shui ones home is a mirror reflection of who they are and what is going on in their life. Once you start mapping out the floorplan and asses how things lay out, sometimes it is clear and naturally makes sense which method one might resonate with. Sometimes it's also just what someone connects to energetically.
      I hope that answers your questions a little more.

      @@ayres6727 If you are looking to use a FEng Shui compass it would be best to consult with compass Feng Shui methods. As for a FEng Shui vision board, do you just mean making a vision board using Feng Shui details? Some people choose to create a vision board and select images for your intentions based on the 9 areas of the BAgua map. Here is an article with a sample of Feng Shui vision board, you can see how each section relates to the BAgua map ( susantarameyer.com/deep-freeze-vision-board-inspiration/)

    This is not classical feng shui. Energy moves constantly...This is not recommended
    Use a compass not a bagua map.

    • @HeatherMelcer
      @HeatherMelcer  6 лет назад +2

      There are many different methods/schools of Feng Shui. And this is only one part of a tool that is used when doing a consultation for one's home. Energy is indeed always moving that is why we must always be connecting to our homes, spaces and moving things around as time goes in and we assess what is going on in our lives. Also, many other schools of Feng Shui use a compass to place the Bagua map, so in that regard the Bagua map is the same static thing, it just is based on a different entry point. But what you do inside the home is always moving, in all methods.
