  • Duncan has just finished a good tune up of my 1970 FLH. This is a completely untouched original paint machine. For detailed pix click here www.flickr.com/photos/34150794...

my 1970 flh also has the same gas caps, same blue white, does not have the red lights on rear

that is because it is the same bike. There are two videos previous to this showing the same machine not running right that Larry Suttle had done the tune up. Duncan finally got it right. When I have time, I will find these earlier vids and post them in the video comment's. These candy color's were 'weak' and over time often fade

these vids are always 'wavily'. Again, not sure why. Better some video then no video I suppose. Glad you enjoy the vids!

I just picked up a 70 FLH same color with 27,000 original miles and it runs like a top. The cluch and shifting is a little crunchy at times

I've seen this video a few times. You find the most incredible of Harleys. I tell every enthusiast I meet about your channel. I'm a big fan. I know you are busy but please tell me why did Harley put the front wheel brake drum on the right side for years 1969, 1970, and 1971? Harley did this with the Springer FXSTS (exception being the 2008 FXSTSSE that used a wider front wheel/tire combination) but NOT for the FLSTS Heritage Springer, which also used a wider front wheel/ tire combination. This has been a nagging question for me for years. I've asked but nobody seems to know. If anyone knows it's gotta be you. Thank you.

505harleys no one knows for sure, so I suspect it was simply the designer's idea of what looked good

I own one of each, a 67 and a 70...the 70s cable goes right into the brake, and it seem like a better idea, the 67 does a weird little angle before it goes into the brake...Plus, the 70 looks way nicer.

Yes. They didn't start saying AMF until late 71 on the tank with a decal over the tank badge.

All depends on who the mechanic was. Some were excellent, some not so hot. Some didn't run from HD

These old bikes are only worth what 2 people agree on. 5 minutes later it might be worth a whole lot more or a whole lot less. Not enough exist for a set market value
