I wished that Hasbro had made a sequel to their 1987 G.I. Joe the movie. All we got was the DIC version of the series instead of a 3rd season that I hoped would come out in the fall of 1987. I don't know how or why DIC managed to obtain the licence to the series when they had The Ghost busters, Beverly Hills Teens, and COPS in production at the time. I miss the old Sunbow GI Joe. I feel that the series might had been better off showing one new episode a week while maintaining a high level of animation like the movie.
DIC isn't as high quality as Sunbow but there are some gems to be found. Operation Dragonfire being the best of the bunch and at least kind of takes place after the events of the Movie. Welcome to the Slaughterhouse Vince!

There were some rebel commandos. But there was plans actually for a Star Wars rebel commando game that would’ve seen Sev leading a bunch of rebels. I like to imagine that they were made up of clones who refused to obey order 66 or grew conscience and deserted to fight

They infiltrated Cobra Island, got Intel on Cobra-La, made it all the way into Serpentors throne room and then blew up the Terrordrome. I'd say that's more than was expected of them 😎
i don't remember if Sgt Slaughter was a Marine Recon but he has the tenacity for one. Falcon is consider to be both a Special Force and Special Operator due to his status as a Green Beret.

Because you didn’t put personnel, cameras or motion sensors in the HVAC system. An enemy force was able to destroy much of our conventional weapons. Now we have to expend half of our organic creatures from Cobra La to help Cobra get the BET at the potential (turned out to be actual) cost of inadequate defense of Cobra La.
