Just discovered this episode. Good to see that you actually relax sometimes, James! Airing down the tires is amazing the first time you try it you don't believe it is going to work. As your buddy said surface area. To be more specific, the contact patch gets a good bit wider, but real magic... it gets twice as long. I have seen it done on the beaches of Cape Cod with crossover type SUVs on street tires with on-demand AWD and it works! A guy showed up in a 4x4 pickup, lift kit, big tires, ignored the sign telling everyone to air down, and he promtly dug down the the axles. Someone walks oveer with a tire gauge in hand (yes... Massachusetts people actually are friendly!), helped him air down, and he drove away happy.
Im watching now. By the way...I just joined the Jeep life lol. Got a 6 inch lifted Cherokee 2door, with 35inch tires and all the goodies. I love that thing and just cant wait for some mudding or snow days! Bring it!
Glad you hooked up with some experienced duners. They can be a lot of help to those who haven't been on the dunes. Nubies are probably the number one reason for accidents.
As I said in a previous video: Tis better to get stuck and have to back down than go flying over the dune and kill somebody. Good job of keeping safe.👍

I was just watching the video you made on Motorcoach World regarding the shortage of drivers and noticed a still picture of some of your drivers at 7:22. And some of them had a device around their neck on the collar of their shirt. May I ask what that is, please?
