Thank you so much, was driving me nuts (2024 T8 owner). I was not aware we could cancel per journey (only works for me if selected prior to moving off). Godsend as the tech does not reflect the correct speed limit for 50% of my daily motorway commute 😡. Agree entirely that the adaptive assist implementation is dangerous particularly with T8 acceleration on tap when you override - car then bolts thru (very often incorrect) speed limit. Brilliant car but ISA and lack of driving mode physical buttons have ironically undermined driving safety.
Thanks for posting. It's been driving me nuts for ages. Now all I have to do is get my phone to stay paired, get Amazon Music to stay tethered and work out a way to play music from a USB ! Other than that, love the car.
Just drove a rental XC90 for a week. Oh my goodness the most distracting annoying thing I have ever come across... Absolutely ridiculous system, thanks for posting.
With it being the law now in the UK for all new cars to have this (ISA), and that it must be active when you start the car, I think this is brilliant from Volvo. It's about the easiest way to turn it off you could think of. A lot of other manufacturers bury it in a sub menu somewhere.
Thank you so much. I have a v60 on order arriving next week and last night i read about the speed assist. Now i need not worry (i just hope there isn’t an over the air patch to make turning it off harder)
Same on mine. Irritating as it will suddenly trigger a 30mph warning in the middle of a 60mph road for no reason whatsoever then continues to ding and quite frankly piss me off. My previous 2020 XC40 worked flawlessly. Surely there must be a fix from Volvo for these inaccurate warnings.
Hopefully a fix in a future software update. I agree, this is my 2nd XC40 and 5th Volvo overall and this is a new one on me. At least it's easily switched off, all be it on every journey.
I am now getting a notification every time I go out in the car telling me a road sign data update is downloading. Unfortunately nothing downloads and so I get this notification and chime every time I use the car. Sick and tired of this car. My previous xc40 was perfect. Volvo dealer don’t want to know.

Thank you for saving my sanity

You look at the flashes on the screen instead of looking at the intersection.

Its a new law which require car manufcaturers to have this stupid function from 2024.
@@quavohuncho6156 It's not the feature that's the problem - it's the fact it doesn't work properly.
How about the smart#1 that car is build on the same platform as your xc40
Thank you.. this non-sense kill me every morning.. I think ISA is only EU non-sense, but You have same issue in UK!
Does it use a camera system and if so, would it work to cover up the camera to disable the system?
Since the camera will be shared with various other safety features, I don't think that would be a good idea.
Strange how we part with so much money for an inheritanly flawed product. The test vehicle did not have these irritating flaws.
I'm not sure it's a 'flaw' some might find this a useful feature, but not me. It's probably something to do with the Euro NCAP rating.
good lord! I hope that doesn't make its way to the US. That is awful!
Who knows? Hope you don't. I think this is Volvo implementing unnecessary safety features to get the Euro NCAP rating up?
