Thanks Thomas, I have the 2024 xc 40 with the orange key, but I’ve been finding that it doesn’t appear to work as well as the black key that a family member uses, is it possible that this is the reason.

Yep the orange key succeeded the red key!

if you car would be stolen, then your insurance won't cover because you need to have all keys while claiming for the insurance refund etc. did you know about this disadvantage?

@@thom-lov when you buy a car you get 3 keys from your dealer on a departure paper, when you sign the car delivery confirmation for the dealer (2 normal + 1 red) --- so you need to have 3 keys when the car is stolen :-) of course there are nuances, but this is the reason i am not using this feature anymore when I have realised that it may be the case ;-)

Yes it can be! So basically figures as a 3rd key of the car at this moment.. :-)

My 2019 s90 (SPA platform) doesn’t have care key options… and you can’t pair the red key to a profile, so it’s useless. I wish Volvo had just given me a normal second key.

That's a great idea for your teenagers. They can't get into the car until homework and chores are done 🤣. So good when you have to leave your car at the mechanic shop
