Very good video Buddy , Funny I did all the same as you. First my like new 98 1500 4x4 had 12 miles to come back home at 10 degrees out . And no heat ! Being so cold made the 12 miles back home. Thought for sure my water pump. Yes as you said not fun taking fan off and then trying to put back on water pump. Besides the small water hose inside the water pump is hard to get off. Seen a guy take a pick and pry around some and spray W240on. Bam it work. Got every thing done with a smile, put new coolant in and had pickup running trying to burp it. And look down on ground and most my new coolant on ground. Think I needed a new water pump as a cat sleeping in the shroud last year and not good when started! Poor cat .😥 Sure in time the pay back new water pump and now a $116 Amazon radiator. That takes over a week to come in mail . I never could see the leak below . So gave up and got to be bad cat radiator. You explain everything I some how all ready knew to a T . Thank you..
Looks pretty "cut and dry". I have the same split on my Dodge radiator. Only problem with working in older vehicles is you usually find something else wrong, or something else breaks due to age. These little projects can "snowball" quickly, so I would advise anyone that doesn't have another vehicle to drive to be ready for that possibility. This install seems to have been without incident. Thanks for sharing.
It's that lower transmission fluid line that I'm worried about when I try this tomorrow, always seems my easy projects come with their own exceptions and goes wrong, fingers crossed
That looked like a successful swap. I like to do my own car work also but I know for myself when it is to much. I changed out the grille assembly on my Colorado this weekend. I learned on my own also mostly because it cost to much to have a mechanic or dealer do the work. I do have a trusted mechanic on my town that will do most of the work that I don't want to or just can't do.
It so satisfying to be able to fix something...but it also good to have someone who can bail you out if you get over your head! My other car may need that!
For those that have done this, what did you find to be most difficult? If this helped please remember to hit that sub and like button, thank you all!
