Thread really does make all the difference in the world. It's especially a nice contact sensor now that they have fixed the battery issues also. Fantastic video!
I think we can all agree that smart homes need fewer hubs! I’ve seen some crazy server racks full of different kinds of hub! If only there was a unifying standard… 👀
Nice video, Stephen, and I continue to really value that your channel has a ethics and ethos statement regarding your review process. Most of the channels ensure they note their independent review but almost no one else articulated this in writing for folks to see the how and the why. The first thing I thought during your review is “why isn’t Matter listed on the box?!”, which of course you addressed. This is a big miss, though, as you noted, if you’re dedicated to the Apple Home then it is no real concern. Virtually all of my Apple Home backbone products (motion sensors, contact sensors, environmental sensors) are either Aqara or Eve, I do have one Onvis motion sensor that I got shortly after starting my Apple Home 1.5 years ago. It is the only backbone product that has work perfectly ever since I obtained it and has given me confidence in the efficacy and durability of their products.
Thanks Dr Cole for your kind words here! Always appreciated! Onvis are a good brand, I’d love to see them expand further into different areas. Not the biggest fan of their C3 camera, but it does support HKSV, so that’s as plus!
Thanks for flagging this up - the sound quality has been an issue for a little while, but let me know what you think of it in our next video launching this Sunday - I hope it is now fixed, but your feedback is important!

Thanks so much for tuning in Dustin, I have a lot of catching up to do with your content so I’ll have to have a marathon session soon!
Nice video 😊 Can we recover HomeKit shortcuts and not only scenes ?
Good review mate. I wish i can get this. No hub required and will connect automatically to homepod mini through thread.
