    These came out so good! I’m so excited to visit soon and customize mine.
    I love the idea of the elastic around the big closure. I have seen people do a string with beads but I think the elastic looks cleaner

      Thank you!! I’m so happy with them, and I’m glad I went with an elastic closure instead of the leather string. I think the leather strap might be nice for something I don’t want to open and close quickly, like long form journal. I knew it’d drive me crazy if I tried to use it as a wallet.
      That’s so exciting that you’re going soon! When are you planning on visiting TSL? 🤩

    Barely 2 minutes into this video and my partner and I booked tickets to Kurashiki, you guys are inspiring us to go :)
    Both sizes looked amazing and that charm closure is something I've never seen on a TN which I loved!
    And always great to hear your thought process + the update at the end was such a nice touch, thanks so much for sharing 🥰

      Thank you so much! And I agree! We knew there would be no shortage of things to do, see, and eat, so we tried to pepper in a few “low-key” cities to stay in between the major ones like Tokyo and Kyoto.

    Thank you so much for sharing. I love how your TNs turnen out. I have 2 questions. How long was the wait to pick them up after choosing your ideas? If it’s ok for you to share how is the pricepoint for the TNs?

    • @LittleCocoStudio
      @LittleCocoStudio  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you so much!! So, we wrapped up our order before noon (so roughly 2 hours after they opened) and they asked us to pick them up by 5pm the next business day. They initially said it could be possible to get it done on the same day, but they seemed relieved when I mentioned we were staying for a few nights, so we weren't in a rush.
      I don't mind sharing the pricepoint - I think it's a fair question! I checked the receipt and assuming I added things up correctly, the standard tn came out to 23210 yen (~150 USD) and the passport tn came out to 16500 yen (~106 USD). I hope that helps!

    Looks like you had an amazing time in Kurashiki! Your customizations turned out great and I especially love the passport. Surprised the camel is not velvety.. I've only seen ones that are. It is still very pretty. What an amazing gift and memorable stay. For the mug, I've never tried to put it in the dishwasher and I probably wouldn't want to for fear of the imprint wearing out quicker.

    • @LittleCocoStudio
      @LittleCocoStudio  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you! It was such an amazing trip. Yeah, I was really surprised about the camel not having the suede-like texture. I didn’t get to see it before they started the customizations, but I guess it doesn’t matter since it eventually goes away in the long run. Ok, you’ve convinced me to hand wash this cup only. I would be so sad if it faded!

      Thank you so much!! I am so in love with my TNs. The standard insert that I journal in is from GoodINKPressions (they have an etsy store and their own online shop). It's the 160 page tomoe river cream inserts. For the cover, I chose the chocolate colour option. As for the grid, I asked them to customize it to be 3.7 mm, so it matches my hobonichi! I hope that helps!

    I just found out that you can customise travellers notebook like this (with pockets and stuff)! Can you please explain how to do it? Thanks for sharing your experience in Kurashiki and I’m really enjoying it. How long it take them to finish making your both TN, can I pick it up on the same day? Why I am asking because I will visit them in February 2025. Thanks 😊

    • @LittleCocoStudio
      @LittleCocoStudio  Месяц назад +1

      That is so exciting that you'll be visiting soon! 🤩 I think it is possible to have it done on the same day if you are able to arrive as close to their opening time as possible. I would think it also depends on how many customizations you want to do. When we arrived, I asked if it would be possible to customize a standard and passport. They said it was possible, but as soon as they found out we were going to be there a few nights, they asked if we could pick ours up the next day instead. I hope that helps!

      TSL sewed them on for me! I show a close-up of what it looks like at 29:24 in the video if you want to have another look! :) I think you can also glue them on (I haven't looked into this option yet, but it's likely what I will do with my tiger patch!).

    I’m new to the TN community so I was wondering if only TSL does customizations? I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone on RUclips talk about Traveler’s Company customizing TNs. Is this also specific to Japan branches?

    • @LittleCocoStudio
      @LittleCocoStudio  17 дней назад +1

      I think the Traveler’s Factory locations do some customizations as well. I am not as familiar with their service offering because I was planning on getting mine customized at TSL, but I think they will add some stamped letters to your cover. If the US is accessible to you, Baum Kuchen in California will also do TN customizations that are very similar to the ones TSL will do. BK will even work with you to customize an existing TN cover if you’re comfortable shipping it to them. I hope that helps!

    On the passport could you swap out the elastic with the knot to one with a little metal closure? That way it’d be flatter.

    • @LittleCocoStudio
      @LittleCocoStudio  Месяц назад +1

      Do you mean swap out the leather knot from the heart charm with an elastic? If so, I think you're right - that could help flatten it out! Currently, I'm not finding it to be an issue, but I'd consider it if it starts to bother me more!

  • @onemorerow520
    @onemorerow520 Месяц назад

    I have moved the knot from the back of my TNs to the middle of the spine. It leaves a very small hole on the back, but at least now I can still write without having to remove the notebook to a flat surface. Also, has anyone figured out the name of that brass plate protector?

    • @LittleCocoStudio
      @LittleCocoStudio  Месяц назад

      Ah, that's a good idea to move it to the spine! I haven't had the courage to make any modifications to my TNs, yet, but I've thought about doing that and maybe trying to re-string the TN so I can fit more inserts in comfortably. As for the brass protector, is this the item you're wondering about? nap-dog.com/products/brass-tag

  • @tanyaronning3965
    @tanyaronning3965 Месяц назад

    I don't like the bump that the elastic knot creates on the back of my TNs (it bothers me when I'm writing), so i drilled a small hole in the spines of my TNs and moved the elastic to that. I'm left with a tiny hole in the back but that doesn't bother me. Maybe a solution to your knot being in the way in your passport size? You'd have to lengthen the elastic to reach further around, though...!

    • @tanyaronning3965

      Also, I love the format of this video! Thank you!

    • @LittleCocoStudio
      @LittleCocoStudio  Месяц назад

      Adding a knot in the spine is such a great workaround! I haven't had the courage to try it on my TNs yet, but it's something to consider! Thank you for the suggestion! And also, thank you for the kind feedback about the format of this video! I appreciate you! 😊
