@@MadelieneArt that is the problem. I spend the day today doing them erasing, it took me the whole day. My main question is how do we know when we do it well snd we don’t need to erase. Like what is the right way. I keep on watching videos hoping to find an answer.
Honestly I do this too… I keep reworking and reworking and end up with something I’m not completely happy with. I’ve found it helps to step away from it then look at it later… even on another day. I think sometimes we’re so critical of our own work, it helps to take a step back and try looking at it with another lens. Most of the time I’ll come back to it and see something different 😃
Hi your work is just gorgeous and love the way you replied most comments thanks a lot Just one query since I am.a novice even I follow up this art not as a professional though like one small.work a day off n on still is it toxic from the room
Hi thanks for the comment! I work in a very well ventilated room, two large windows to vent the air through, an air purifier and I have a respirator for when I am unable to open the windows due to weather. The VOC’s are definitely toxic if inhaled directly. If you can’t work outdoors please use a respirator mask or ensure a well ventilated room. Thanks so much for watching 💕
May I ask please what colors have been used here ? Why is it that when I add the piñata brass it sinks down and settles as a brass blob even after I try to lift it with the isopropyl.
Yes!!! I cannot figure out how to get the metallic ink to stay on the top, so I never end up with gold lines like this, just gold mixed even throughout. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I mix my metallics with isopropyl in a small bottle and use them like that. About 25% ink to 75% alcohol. The only time I used it neat I just got blobs of ink.
Hi! I try to keep the heat gun moving and not concentrate too much in one spot, I use a the low setting as well. I'm actually looking for a tool that only blows cold air to help with this process. The warping is inevitable with heat... I also use Grafix Craft plastic it's a heavier weight, it doesn't warp as fast as Yupo Paper :) thanks so much for commenting I hope this helps!
@@colouredeye9775 right?! Like they just don’t exist unless you settle for something really awkward to hold like an air compressor or a large hair dryer with a cool shot setting. 🤷🏻♀️ #artistproblems
Hi Adam, I would say so… you don’t use as much material/paint with the inks. I just prefer the inks b/c they are so fluid like water 😃 and super easy to clean up! Thanks so much for watching 🥰
Hi Jackie! Most of the supplies I used in this video are in the description 😃 I used copic alcohol ink with piñata brass and isopropyl alcohol to blend!
Hi! you could! the synthetic papers are like plastic so they would warp and melt creating bumps bubbles and holes in the paper which is art in its own form! Just be careful 🔥🔥🔥
I have question about safety. I understand alcohol ink fumes are toxic. Is the blending solution also toxic or is it safer than isopropyl alcohol? Is it safe to do this art in my apartment? Will the fumes affect other rooms or just the immediate area? I cannot open windows due to the excessive heat and I have no where else to do art. Do I have to give up alcohol ink?
Hi Laurie, yes the blending solutions are still toxic they are made with alcohol but with added slip like glycerine. The fumes will definitely affect other rooms in the home/apartment. I’d hate for you to give up the art completely so my suggestion would be to wear a respirator type mask (although this wouldn’t help once you take it off if you’re unable to vent the fumes from your home) or invest in an air purifier that can handle VOCs for the room you do your artwork in and close the doors behind you. I hope this helps! Thanks for reaching out and thanks so much for watching!
Hi Connie! Good question! And yes it does everytime!! It’s quite a mess actually 🤪 I don’t bother protecting it as I’ll mount my painting on a wood panel and resin so you never see the backs 😃 you could protect it with painters tape!
You’re right on this one! I think it’s because alcohol ink really has a mind of its own so you gotta let it flow where it wants to make these neat shapes, its hard to control and to manipulate into a non abstract form of an object.
Do you use Yupo paper and does it smudge once dry? Mine does 😭😭😭 I am assuming this is why you cover in resins. I was just making doodle paper for hubby and me but smudging sucks 😞 LOVE YOUR ART!!!!!!!
Hi Heather! I use both Yupo and Grafix Craft Plastics and yes it will smudge if there are concentrated pools of ink or if reactivated with alcohol. You can use an acrylic sealant like Liquitex varnish just brushed on top or a spray like Kamar varnish to preserve the piece and avoid smudging, hope that helps 🥰
Hello Priya, I have another video where I captioned what I do step by step here ruclips.net/video/vMahJuggSFk/видео.html hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
Oh no!! I’m sorry that happened! What did you use as a protective spray? I’ve only had success with Kamar varnish spray, or Liquitex gloss varnish both require 2-3 coats and you have to make sure it’s completely dry before resin
Yes this will work on canvas, make sure to prep canvas first with varnish or else the ink will just soak right into it making it harder to move it around 😃 I use 3 coats of liqutex acrylic gloss varnish or you can use a spray like kamar varnish
Hi Barb, my heat tool is not super powerful it’s 300w and I usually use it on the low setting however it still warps paper if I concentrate the heat in one area for too long. Keep moving it around to prevent this. Grafix craft plastic and Nara papers take much longer to warp so I gravitate towards those papers more. I also use an air brush tool more often (no heat) you can use a hair dryer on the cool setting too 🙂 Hope this helps
Thanks so much for watching and commenting, and you ARE right about safety! I don’t ever plan on touching it with bare hands so it’s always just in the moment when I do! I’ll try to be more safe going forward!

Great effect, very hipnotizing video.

You’re welcome!! Thanks for watching! It definitely takes time and practice and even then… the inks still have a mind of their own!

Also, if you watch some of her videos, she rubs her finger through the bronze with alcohol to break up the colour and enable it to spread better.
Exquisite

Amazing!!!!!
Please can I use a hair dryer instead of this? Thanks a lot!!
Absolutely! Make sure to use it on the lowest setting and coolest setting so your inks don’t dry up too quickly! Thanks so much for watching!
