Well Done. Designed by engineers that never have to do the repairs.
I totally agree Phil. Thank you.
Just finished replacing all main bulbs with the help of this video. You made it very easy to follow, thank you. And yes it was much easier to move the cluster as needed by removing the shift indicator from the cluster. Saved me so much grief.
Man you are most welcome. So glad you got it done!!!
I’ve been avoiding this job for a while. Your video has inspired me. Thanks!
Your welcome Barry. I appreciate watching and the support on the channel. Glad I could help with the dash lights. 👍🏻👊🏼
what a great video... thank you my man. Im gonna tackled this in a week or so for mine,
You are most welcome bro. 👊🏼
Finally. Someone does this so smoothly and easily to understand. Amigo you are the man! Thanks for the video 🤙🏽
Thanks brother. I tried to explain it like I would want someone to explain to me. Simple and straight to the point. 👊🏼🍻
Man you nailed it. All the way down to the bulb! Funny thing. I went to my parts house’s and asked for the bulb. So I just come back now and saw you added it. Saved my ass twice in one video. Haha !!
Awesome man. Glad I could help.
I have a 2002 for ranger with 285,000 miles on her!! No lights in the dash! Still going very strong lol
Those rangers are beasts man. Awesome!!!
Wow!👀 I love it bro! I literally put this on my favorite list
Thanks I sure appreciate it !👊🏼
@@LivinWith3M you welcome also u rock on this vid
No wonder the mechanic wanted to change me $200. To replace my ranger dash bulbs. You almost have to pull the entire dash . Damn!
I promise it pulls right apart and you’ll be fine if you take your time and follow my video.
Just picked up a ranger with some lights out in the dash, appreciate the video brother. I'll use your link to grab my bulbs so you get a kick back if it's an affiliate link 🤙
It is. Thank you so much bro. I appreciate you. 👍🏻👊🏼
I just replaced mine today. I used Sylvania 194. I bought them at Amazon in a 10 pack for $8.07 + tax. The seller I got them from offered free shipping. When replacing dash bulbs on these, I bend the two brass tabs on the bulb holder upwards very slightly so they will have better pressure against the printed circuit board. I have had dash bulbs that worked sometimes and sometimes not. If it's an individual bulb doing that it is generally a connection issue. This can be one of those connections.
Great info. Thank you 👍🏼
Thanks for uploading this - my son had 3 bulbs out on his 2001 Ranger and drives night shift now so I wanted to get these replaced.
Your video saved me a lot of time and headaches looking for all of those hidden little bolts and your video was perfect. Again, appreciate it !
Thanks David, that means a lot. I try real hard to help people and it’s reply’s like yours that make it all worth while. 👍🏻👊🏼
@@LivinWith3M - I work on cars and do a lot of home/construction projects and many are so much easier because folks like you take the time to make/edit/publish these.
My friend's son says that his dad and I need to start doing the same as we have so many tricks we have learned over the decades. Not sure we are up to it but maybe someday we will give it a shot like you did and maybe help someone else down the road.
But, I'm getting ready to build a log home kit with that same friend and we are going to be so stressed for time to get it under roof before snow falls that it won't be for while if we decided to give it a try. Floor framing starts this week then the tricks arrive in 2 weeks so about to get crazy busy and hopefully a lot of fun along the way as well.
Again, thanks for doing these - have a good weekend !
Man that’s awesome. You really should start your own channel. You have a good weekend also. Take care. 👍🏻
I never liked the dash lights in my 03' Ranger. The lines and numbers are dreadfully dark and and hard to see. After some lights went out, I went ahead and took the plunge to change all of them....to LED. What a change! That was 2 years ago, and all is good.
Awesome. Yeah if I change again then I’m definitely going LED. Thanks bro. 👊🏼
This is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks brother.
Glad I could help bro. 👍🏻👊🏼💯
JEEZ. I have a similar ranger, I can't believe what a pain it is to get back there. . . There goes my plans of changing out that bulb for a better one lol
Oh man I know. It is a job for sure. I think you could do it. Just take your time. 👍🏻👊🏼🍻
Lower setting on your drill, will work for not snapping plastic. Good job! 👍
Thank you. I sure appreciate it. I agree on that lower setting also. 👊🏼
Good video my brother.
Great diy. He'll ya pops still doing his thing.🤘 truck and driver still putting in work💪
Thanks bro. Yes sir. A little worn down by life but still gets up at 5 am every morning to do his thing. But you know all too well about that and hard work cause you live it first hand 👊🏼👍🏻
Note. Some of these Ford Rangers have Philips head screws to hold the dash bezel in place. You also do not need to remove the light switch knob. As some Ford Rangers do not have a bolt behind the radio, but you still have to remove the radio bezel, as it covers the dash bezel. And those other light bulbs are Micro 86 bulbs.
Awesome information. Thank you for that. 👍🏼
Have the same truck with the same lights out. Thank you for the video.
You are most welcome. Glad I could help out. Love these trucks!
Well, now I know that I'm just gonna learn to live with the bulb being out.
I really feel that you could do it. I promise if I can do it then most anyone could. Just keep my video handy while doing it step by step and take your time. 👍🏻
It’s not that hard, I’m 17 and I just did it in an hour and a half being really careful and not even removing the wires for the dash.
Awesome. Thank you for sharing. I hope Christine sees this and attempts it. 👍🏻👊🏼
Your video was awesome. I have an awful ranger. You never mentioned about if you do not have a tilt steering wheel or a standard vehicle 5 speed.
Are they done that your video was awesome? Thank you very much. You save me some money.
Thank you Anthony. You are right, I never did mention it, but mine is an automatic and is a tilt steering wheel. 👍🏼
Best video out there for this. Thank you. Now I know it’s not gonna be so bad
Thank you. I sure appreciate it. Glad I can help. 👍🏻
doing mine this week thanks for sharing...Peace
You are welcome. 🤙🏼
That is WAY too much effort for replacing gauge cluster lights. Thanks for the video.
Thanks bro. 👍🏻👊🏼
My ranger 2001 has 259,000 and runs like a top
That is awesome. I love to hear things like that. 👊🏼
Thanks for the video, you put that the large lights are size 161, but what number would be the small ones, that is, the check engine, brakes, etc...
Hey Jonathan, the bulbs like check engine light are the tan holders with these bulbs in them. Click here. Hope this helps you. amzn.to/44GVX0G
Quick question but what’s that radio kit I need to replace mine and I see that yours is a snug fit
Hey, here is the link to buy it. It fits better than other cheap brands. amzn.to/4dmZ1mJ
Great video. Thanks!😊😊😊
You are most welcome.
thanks man for the uh thorough explanation but yeahhhhh i'm gonna have to pass since it's way more work than it's worth for only one out light
I totally understand your point. 👍🏻
Thanks for posting. Very helpful.
Anyone change over to led bulbs? Is it worth doing?
You are most welcome. I haven’t yet but really want to change soon. They say it’s awesome!!!
What size is the latch bolt for the hood latch
Brother to be honest I have absolutely no idea. I would call your local ford parts and they will get you the size you need. My apologies 🤙🏼
Thanks a bunch❤❤❤
You are welcome
Where can I get the bulbs, Amazon?
Yes. Here is the link amzn.to/3WTGAiI
Hello I’ve just replaced all the lights in my dash, but they still won’t light up, what’s the issue!
I would check all the fuses going to the dash lights first. Be sure to not just visually check the fuses, check them with an ohm meter or replace with new ones just to be on safe side.
Do you know what the part number is for the smaller lights that you did not replace?
These take a number 74 bulb. The tan holders. 👊🏼👍🏻
@@LivinWith3M Thank you much.
You are welcome 👍🏻
I meant.
To say 04 ranger not awful
Haha. Gotcha bro. 👊🏼
I got same truck 2002 6 cylinder red ranger
Awesome. Love it bro!!!
Don't much bout cars but have same issue really want fixed
I feel sure you could watch my video step for step and do it. Have a buddy come over and help. I just had a lady tell me that she was grateful for the video. She did it in her driveway. I know you can do this.
Have ever seen a engineer with a brain?
🤣
You have got to be kidding me. Ford wtf
7mm, 6-point, hex-heads...that's what you meant to say...right-???
Exactly. Yes sir. Thank you for that info. It will definitely help other viewers.
