What a great idea you have given us! I know that Jayda in Stitches did a blanket tutorial similarly with background including seascape, forest, farm, sky etc. Then she created all kinds of appliqués to sew on. Check it out on You Tube as well.

To Quickly Back Your Sign, Pick up some Adhesive Felt, cut to size and put on.

The backing is just to make the back look better, has nothing to do with going outside.
