Doc is an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to Landcruisers. Lovely bloke to talk to also. I have seen this one in the flesh and the video does little justice to show just how well presented this one. Great to see it here on your channel.
God, land cruisers were a part of my life for years as a kid. My parents used them for dragging the jet boat and rafter bing dingies down to the rakaia river in Canterbury NZ. ... Man, that was in the late 80’s. Legendary vehicle.
Think you'll find mid size body but wheel base same as shorties...mid comes from troopy rear overhang on quarter panels.....but still absolutely beautiful 40 series...
at some stage I will be restoring my BJ46 LX as well, will be staying red and having a 15bfte engine in there and disc brake rear axle. I will be putting another bj46 onto an 80 chassis as well after some rust repairs and putting the 1hdft engine up front that was in the ute. My red one is exactly the same as the blue one but with a PTO winch up front. It is a really cool vehicle. One day I will bring it to CLECS.
I know it would be sacrilegious to do it but just imagine doing a mad engine swap with a slick auto behind it, suspension mods and some bigger rubber.... Look after it Dr Ben and keep it away from mugs like me. Looks like Paul has spent some hours nurding out over it lol.
I know exactly what you mean.... But..... With such a rare and beautiful example, it really needs to stay "Factory" but I think that I must be getting older (and possibly wiser) because a few years ago I would have said *Make it more capable* bigger engine, bigger axles, lift and bigger tyres! Now I want it to stay original so that it can be used as a reference!
Beautiful car. Thanks for showing.

As all of us, were is he... Hope he is well...
Blue sky, blue dog, blue car. It matches my blue eyes and blue dress.
@@MrLandcruiser I've been out in the paddock mustering cattle and breathing dust. I need a snorkel...
A mid wheel base! That is sick! Love it!
Very cool
Love the mid wheel base
Totally agree

What a beauty! Thanks for doing a detailed walk around on it. I've never found much info on the Jap LX's in English. Super rare car.

Wow that cruiser has got frequent flyer points than I’ll ever have😂
Think it might stay grounded for a while but yes it's done well.
Just beautifully well kept. I have a BJ41V😊
