I disagree in that he's not a traditional fit for Captain Hook, who is supposed to be a bit of a pompous, preening character (though still threatening). OUAT's Captain is almost like a rock star pirate, so not really much like the usual Hook but a great character in his own right (which makes senses, as that series is all about different takes on stories)

Dustin Hoffman and Captain Hook from Disney Peter Pan 1953 and Return to Neverland are my favourite versions! And I love Hook 1991, Disney Peter Pan 1953, Peter Pan 2: Return to Neverland and Jake and the Neverland pirates series! And it reminds me of "Destroy the book" song from the episode "Battle for the Book" but that's better than his song from Jake and the Neverland pirates!
I think the best hooks that are accurate Is the one from “Hook” and also the 2003 Pan which are both in this vid The reason ouat hook isn’t on the best is because it’s not very accurate towards what hook is supposed to be but maybe he’s a very accurate young hook I think
Well it's a good way to subvert our expectations. And honestly. If he was like the other Captain Hook's. He could of been lost in the shuffle. Making him the swashbuckling ladies man is a nice modern and unique take on Captain Hook. And Colin played the role amazing. Plus OUAT is meant to be different and retelling of all fairy tales. I mean Evil Queen shouldn't have been beautiful. But OUAT changed it. The point of the OUAT Hook was to give a new modern, fresh, and very interesting take on the Captain Hook character. If you do the same thing forever. It'll get boring.

can you possibly list the captain hooks that you used in the vid. i recognise that classic disney hook from peter pan, the hook from the peter pan movie where peter pan is an adult, & 1 from a broadway version of peter pan [possibly the 1 showen at 0:07]. its possible that i might have seen another version of a live action peter pan at the 0:40, 0:57-0:59 spot

The croc he sings about in the song is just a nickname anyway for his enemy who cut of his hand. Who was not Pan in his story, but a powerful user of dark magic. He is still rivals with Pan, well it’s complicated . Pan is a dark character in OUAT ( which really is closer to J M Barrie’s original than Disney’s was), and he’s more of a villain than Hook is.
