- Here are the automated announcements for a N train being rerouted in Manhattan and Queens and being sent via the Queens Boulevard - F and R Lines to Continental / 71 Avenues / Forest Hills.
From Coney Island - Stillwell Avenue to Forest Hills 71 Av via Sea Beach Express / 4 Avenue Express / via Bridge / Broadway Express / via 63 Street / via Queens Blvd Local.
A compilation of station and transfer announcements recorded between 2015 and 2018.
That transfer announcement at 34 Street - Herald Square makes me die a little inside every time that I hear it.
Love the N Express announcement, and nice video as always!
You never disappoint! I love your channel!
You're not wrong about that!

You never disappoint anyone on YT! I've been watching for 6 years and you are truly the best!
Yes! I remember when I was riding the N train from Forest Hills -71 Avenue to Manhattan in the mid 80's. I was riding the slanted r40 from Roosevelt Ave to Manhattan from the 2000 something era due to a signal failure at Queensboro Plaza. But it ran on the old route for years. R train went to Astoria, yes it was. Imagine the N train goes back to Forest Hills & everybody on the train doesn't know what will happen next. That's a good one.
Same! I was like “whattttttt!!!” Noelle would be so happy ( Noelle is my sister)
The transfer at 36th Street to the M and R trains is unnecessary for two reasons:
1. If someone were going towards Manhattan, it would work, as the next stop on both lines is Queens Plaza, except for one thing: there is no free transfer between directions at 36th Street. To get to the Manhattan-bound platform, you'd have to leave the station and pay a second fare to make the transfer. (Of course, if you're lucky enough to have an Unlimited Ride MetroCard, then you'd have no trouble, but not everyone is that lucky.)
2. If you were going towards Forest Hills, there'd be no need to make the transfer, as not only do the M and R trains make the same stops as this special N train was making, both terminate at Forest Hills anyway.
Niceee as always !!!
Nice R160 N train announcement on Queens Blvd line N train used to be there before May 1987 when the N and R train switch place because the R train needed access to Jamaica Yard and also the R train didn't have a yard assigned at the time
somecallmeelvis And there was an idea on a site that suggested that to return the R to Astoria, they can build a yard on the Con Ed Power Plant. But given that there was an explosion there in December 2018 that rocked the city (and the neighborhood since I have friends who live in Queens), I would not build a yard in that con ed explosion prone place.
@@TheRailLeaguer aw man, the R to Astoria could have been amazing, returning the G to 71 Av. That could have been the RR.
@@bullymaguire6168 That comment I made was from 2 years ago, but since then, I have favored support of it with other changes. Notably, switching the Brooklyn terminal of the R route from 95th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, replacing D train service. Assuming nothing else is changed, new track switches south of 36th Street would be installed to allow for D trains to switch to the local tracks south of there, and run local to 95th Street, replacing the R train.
The northern end of the R train would then be changed back to Astoria-Ditmars. Service on the whole line would run at 20 trains per hour, with 5 or so trains terminating at Queensboro Plaza, though if the switch layout at Astoria was changed, those 5 trains would continue to Astoria-Ditmars. The N would terminate at 96th Street with the Q, and both routes will get a service boost to 12 trains per hour. At this point, the R will be based out of the existing Coney Island Yard. D train layups can either be moved to 207th Street Yard or can remain at Coney Island Yard.
Incredible
3:46 That’s my favoriteee announcement
The N used to run on Queens Blvd in the 60’s and 70’s… it was designated as EE and was the Queens Blvd local.

Wow excellent I’ve never heard the N via the queens blvd line

Awesome video!
Cool maybe this could be the N train regular route. But for this to happen the R train should be rerouted to the Astoria line then extend to LaGuardia Airport and build a new train yard nearby and reroute the N to queens blvd. Just saying

How about a D train to forest hills :) . You always have great amazing videos and i enjoy too
If you were on the 4 train between Atlantic Terminal and 59th Street you would have heard N trains running on the F & R lines from 59th Street East Side line 63rd Street Station platforms to Forest Hills 71st Avenue connection to Long Island Railroad. Can someone tell me to why Long Island Railroad announcement connection it's missing at 71st street Forest Hills because it's only two or four blocks away from the subway station?
Can I use a couple of your videos to make the Karolyn Hopkins version of the F train announcements from Coney Island Stilwell Avenue to Jamaica 179 Street and I will credit you in the video and link your channel in the description of the video?
When will they add in the T trains in real life somebody please tell me because I want to know and ride them so badly now

Ik I keep commenting but one more suggestion 🥺, The M Announcements To Coney Island Via Culver Local I have half of the recordings tho
Nice! Can you do (D) To Far Rockaway?
R160AExpress its weird they actually have that program lmao
R160AExpress but i dont think he can get those announcements because the D train almost never ever gets rerouted to the rockaways and it has be a r160 that happens to run that day and has to get rerouted
I've heard a small clip of it and it actually sounds nice and it would be cool if Mr Railfan made a video about that
Not stop at 49 st????
Damn, it only says Roosevelt Avenue.
It sounds better when it says Jackson Heights Roosevelt Avenue
On the W to Forest Hills it also says Roosevelt Av excluding Jackson Heights
@Elijah broomes but it isn’t spliced from that. Compare the Roosevelt part with The Roosevelt Part in Roosevelt Island
Do you have regular N train service to Ditmars Blvd? I can’t find it anywhere
Dylan Straker What do you mean?
TheRailLeaguer Regular scheduled N train service from Stillwell to Ditmars
Dylan Straker Just ride the N train at any time and you’ll hear those announcements.
Ye I know but I wasn’t trying to go all the way to Astoria, that’s a trip
N train announcements to Atlantic-Pacific when?
How often does the N run via the R line to forest hills and The R to Astoria?
Very very rarely
I know that
Why did the swap even happen?
Exautical because the R did not have access to a yard while the N had coney island yard and jamaica yard
Sonic57053 Transit & Gaming That swap was in 1987 by the way.
However, if they build a new yard in Astoria, then we can have the R return to Astoria and the N go to 96th Street. New services on Queens Blvd would replace R service.
N train (Sea Beach Express/6th Ave Local/Brighton Express/Broadway Express) Astoria Ditmars Blvd - Queens/Coney Island - Stillwell Ave - Brooklyn
F train (Culver Local/6th Ave Express/Crosstown Local/Queens Blvd Local) Jamaica - 179 St - Queens/Coney Island - Stillwell Ave - Brooklyn)
R train (6th Ave local/Broadway Local/Queens Blvd Express) Forest Hills - 71 Ave - Queens/Bay Ridge - 95 St
Oh, and that's 36th Street in Queens; I forgot about the one in Brooklyn.
Should have named it 36 Street-4 Avenue to avoid confusion between 36 Street in Queens.
@@bullymaguire6168 It was named that back in 2006
I thought 💭 the N train was going to 86th street
Can you do G trains from Forest Hills to Coney Island ?
Doesn’t exist anymore.
@Mr. Foamer™ well, maybe mr railfan will be able to catch it. Or even on a glitched program
I know this was the terminal of the N in the 80s
I know why they switched the R with N by terminal:
The R didn’t have access to a yard
Gaby Rojas Correct. Meanwhile, the N has direct access to one too many yards.
And if someone suggests building a new yard in Astoria at the Con-Ed power plan so that R service can return there, in guessing they didn’t bother to see what happened there in December to come up with a plan..
JeremiahC99 um the power plant exploded and made the sky blue?
Charly L Oh yes. That is the incident with the power plant.
Another alternative I had in mind is to build a new connection between the Broadway Line at Whitehall Street and the Fulton Street line local tracks via a new under river tunnel, the Court Street station which now hosts the museum, and the outer platforms and tracks at Hoyt-Schmerhorn. From there, R service would be rerouted from Forest Hills to Astoria, and from the 4th Avenue Line to the Fulton Street line to Euclid Avenue, replacing C service, which will now use the express tracks with the A and run to Rockaway Park. Not only would R service run at 15 trains per hour, but the fleet will now be based out of Pitkin Yard with the A and C.
Can you make a fictional 7 train announcements from Pelham bay park to coney island (bronx - Manhattan- queens- brooklyn)
Sorry I dont do custom announcements
Oh ok, it is fine!
Can you do the G to Nassau Avenue from forest hills ? Ik they have that in there and they also one to Bedford nostrand, Hoyt Schermerhorn & Bergen street
I have that one actually, i just have a backlog of vids i want to get out, but ill definitely post that one in the near future.
Yayyyy ok take your time

Any SIRT announcement?
As far as I know they dont exist. Closest thing you can get to it is the staten island ferry announcement at Whitehall/ bowling green/south ferry
Ok I thought it would been done since 211 will be here soon.
I'm from the future, SIR announcements exist now but it's an R211S exclusive
N train
The old N train pattern I see
F Train Productions The pre-1987 N train pattern didn’t use the 63rd St Tunnel, because it didn’t exist at the time.
I know that, but it’s close enough to the old pattern
@@TheRailLeaguer It did exist. Just that it didn't have a connection to the Queens Blvd line and was served by the Orange Q train & 63rd St Shuttle while the F was on 53rd St
@@iNevaan The tunnel opened for revenue service in 1989, two years after they swapped the N and R. That’s what I meant by “it didn’t exist”.
