- Rishi Sunak has been praised by Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen after he secured a third term despite the Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and members of the shadow cabinet visiting the region.
He said he could not have "delivered the things that had been delivered over the past seven years" without the Prime Minister.
Rishi Sunak said Labour had also thrown "a lot of mud" during the election and commended the "bold decisions the mayor had made.
