  • This is the review of my teardrop trailer made by you Ukancamp. I have added everything on the rack on the front and top and also a propane tank with a mount. I also added the Joolca water heater shower.

    I’m seriously thinking about building a small teardrop for my traveling. I dig the simplicity of the design on yours. Subbed to your channel. Hope your grows quickly. 🤙

      I appreciate the kind words. This small trailer is definitely fun to build. I say go for it!

    I have used mine in the snow. I will say we stayed toasty warm with our little heater plugged in, but I will say if the snow on the road is significant, then don't pull it. I had a little accident and broke the axel completely off.

      Oh wow! Glad you’re ok! I wonder if it would of helped to have brakes?

      @@billyjack505 no, the problem was the tires could not process that much snow and the clearance between the tires and the wheel well. Which you've raised yours, so I'd expect you'd be a little better off

      @@billyjack505 i really do love it. We've taken it to the tetons, which was absolutely fabulous.

      With a wooden bottom, like that, I'm not sure I'd take it out in the rain, let alone the snow. That's a lot of features to build into a trailer that's probably going to have a rotten floor in a few years. But he's out in the desert, so not that much rain. With proper care, maybe it could last a long time. I just don't know, but seems like it oughta be metal.
      People talk about overland, and it's all about the extreme, but straight-axle wagons with no shocks were dragged across the American frontier before roads. Timbren independent suspension is nice, but no law says you can't add coil over shocks to a straight-axle.

      @@harrymills2770 great input harry. I’ve owned utility trailers with treated wood floors that stood up to the elements for years. I think with the wheels under the wheel well the floor should hold up for a good time. Shoot I have a 30 year old treated fence that still looks good haha. And I agree, the single axle does just fine on trails.

    what about the bottom of the trailer getting wet? Being that it is just wood, is it open to damages that water brings? What about bed liner spray on the bottom?

    • @billyjack505
      @billyjack505  Год назад +1

      I’m honestly not worried. I’ve had trailers like this that are just fine for years. Maybe its where I live but I’ve never seen a wood floor like this get water damage. I live in NM. But spray bed liner would be awesome!
