    When pouring your dressing use the top of a sharp knife it tine of a fork and pry out the plaster piece in the top. It comes out easily and makes for an easier and faster pour.. no noise either😊
    I do this with bbq bottles also, so much easier

    My mother used to make this for every special occasion. I tried to watch closely as you made this and the only thing she did differently was she did add bell peppers. She didn't like black olives, I do, so she didn't put a lot of them in. She loved green olives and I didn't. In this dish they were chopped so small that they were ok for me. I have seen other people make this and some use regular spaghetti. The thin is so much better. I think it helps absorb the Italian dressing. You are so right about breaking the spaghetti in two. I am Sicilian and somewhere I think it is illegal to break spaghetti! 😁It is necessary in this dish. My mother would sit for hours and cut the vegetables in very tiny pieces. That is what the recipe she had called for. I like it how you did it. Small but not taking all day to chop. Now you have me hungry for this. I guess I will get everything on my grocery trip this week. Thanks for the memories.

    I do a pasta salad very similar, but I also add bell peppers, both green and black olives, chunks of cheddar cheese, tiny pepperonis, ham chunks and I leave out the celery. Plus I like to use 2 different shaped pasta, and mixed color pasta ( macaroni, spirals, wagon wheels, curls, shells, etc) it just depends on what looks good to me that day.

As much as I used to like using the wishbone Italian dressing as a marinade on Tritip roast, I no longer use it because of the yucky oil in it. Now I make my own dressings.

    That looks lovely! I make a kind of similar version but without spaghetti. I add avocado, red capsicum, a bit of grated carrot, a small red onion finely chopped & a bit of grated cheese to all of the same vegetables you have used. I also add a very small tin of chickpeas & a sprinkle of seeds.
    The dressing I use is 97% fat free mayo mixed with some tomato chutney, but next time I’ll be adding spaghetti, & maybe a touch of bottled dressing-yummy 🤤
    (I only make a single serve at a time).
    The only problem I have with your version is all of the salt you keep adding.
    I use a sprinkle of pink rock salt on my avocado, with some lemon juice (a whole medium lemon for a small salad, it enhances the flavour of the dressing & stops the avocado from turning brown). Of course I use ground black pepper-that’s a given 😂
    I think you should put salt on the table for people to season to their own tastes as I probably wouldn’t be able to eat your version with all of that salt 😣
    Otherwise thanks for sharing, it’s basically a very good salad which I’m sure a lot of people will enjoy, especially vegetarians like me & maybe vegans depending on the dressing & cheese if used.
    Oh & another thing I add at the end is balsamic glaze as a finishing touch.
    Thanks again 😊

I use zesty Italian dressing and while my spaghetti is cooking I add the first bottle of dressing to the veggies. This is a great salad. I do add more salad supreme than what it calls for but it's what ever amount you personally like. Just add any veggies you like. Sometimes I will add shredded chicken in it. Also a great spaghetti salad.

    I actually forgot about this dish. Thanks for the reminder. I find it interesting how you season every layer. It seems like it would be extra salty? I must be wrong. It would certainly make it easier doing it as you go. Love seeing how different people cook! Thank you so much. The recipe looks delicious!

    • @tonnastreats174
      @tonnastreats174  2 года назад

      You can use regular slicing tomatoes if that would work. I could not find any good ones yet so I used those. You can add or delete anything too. Enjoy! Or make it without tomatoes and divide it. One half you can add tomatoes in and you’ll both be happy!

    That’s too funny my family has been making a version of that as well probably for better part of 45 years and we go to the Italian market and get the baby sized mozzarella balls and they’re fairly tiny I’m in there I think a diamond be a little bit bigger in actual size we have those to this that as well and then sometimes we’ll put no squares of ham or pepperoni into the salad as well or or chicken but we usually put them on meat in it as well and make it sometimes as a meal one night and then inside for several days after that it’s a good salad anyone would be proud to receive that or to make it good job
