Tenebris Somnia really caught my eye because I went in as blind as Vinny was. I think mixed media games are something that really need to be explored more. absolutely dreadful that "liminal space" has just devolved into pointless repetitive rooms - basic boring architecture isn't interesting. it just looks procedurally generated.
I actually want to defend the liminal space game a bit. I definitely do agree with what Vinny is saying, but for a lot of people they love to just feel the vibe that liminal spaces give off, myself included, without any (or barely any) monsters. Just being able to experience that same atmosphere with something very similar but not quite the same. For example I've been fascinated by weird pools for a long time now, so having a seemingly endless supply of games where you can just walk through differently designed pools that all give off that same feeling is very relaxing to me. I think at this point it's become more of a niche thing for people that feel very strong emotions from liminal spaces and want to experience more without playing the exact same game over and over. It's cathartic, and for those that find liminal spaces unnerving, they probably enjoy it so they can feel that very specific sense of dread over and over without having to replay the exact same game. I get the many reasons why people are frustrated by it, but I think at this point with it seeming so overdone to a lot of people, I think they're now moreso for that part of the audience that want to experience the liminal space feeling over and over because they enjoy it. These days there seem to be more liminal space games focusing on the exploration than Backrooms games where you're hiding from monsters, so it makes sense when thinking about it that way too.
Really the main thing is that Vinny just shouldn't have played it for this stream. That was a game very much demanding of you to put away an hour or two of time to really soak into it (get it?) yet he was trying to fit that into a Sunday stream with a hard two hour time limit and other games to look at.
