25:25 Before you say anything, I didn't notice that I left "Wales" out there. I mean everyone knows Five is a nationwide channel anyways so lol This video took 6 hours to render
My favourite uk idents are those of BBC 2 and the various ITV franchises despite the fact I didn’t grow up with either. The only ident I did grow up with which I still consider one of my favourites is the BBC One circle idents. I also feel nostalgic about the 2006 Itv1 idents it realise they came at the cost of regional identity.
20:10 That isn’t necessarily an ident, but a video that would play on Sky channels 899/950/998/999. Those channels are basically for help on the Sky satellite service. NOTE: If you don’t know, as well as a mobile/telephone/internet provider, Sky is also a satellite/IPTV television service in the United Kingdom (as well as in Germany, Italy, New Zealand and in India as Tata Sky)
3:15 wow, ATV have started colour transmission in 1965, on your double franchise region hahahahahahahaha 18:02 finally, the Beeb just launch two channels in the same year, without delaying one to 2003 hahaha
I've always found UK TV idents interesting since a young age (I live in the UK myself). Thanks for uploading this. Also I think the ident at 3:38 is a recreation, it seems to be from the video quality and audio quality
9:35 can anyone point out to why Police Squad which a failed show back in North America at the time and went on to make the Naked Gun Trilogy, is now on BBC 2 in 91 which is to say maybe it got mainstream popularity at the time.
There's a second hand car place in my area of outer East London called 'Time Tees', which I can't help but thinking was a deliberate pun. Tyne Tees refers to Tyneside and Teeside, where it covered. Granada was intended to evoke sunny Spain for an operation based in one of the wettest parts of the UK. I believe you missed Channel Television?
The Channel 4 ident with the robot 4 character kicking the ball into someone's window always looked to be near Headingley or on the outskirts of Leeds.
C5 is considered by many Brits to be the worst channel in the UK. I mean, they killed Big Brother before ITV2 typed it into the Hand Powered Recovery Center.
For a while I thought the women exercising in the BBC One logo were on the Little Britain interior where Matt Lucas portrayed a therapist shouting down drug addicts!
Japan is would be really hard to didn't get blocked even if the description also include video is non-profitable, mainly TV stations. (I think home videos, NHK stations would less likely get affected)
The first logo was from 1946, actually. The first "BBC tv" logo was from 1960. The Grampian logo in the 1969-1982 section of the video is from 1985. The TSW logo you put as 1988 is also from 1985.

I think idents from the United Kingdom are absolutely the best! Great compilation!

The 1991 2s remain the best idents from any country in the world, ever.
BTW, the 1989 Sky jingle would later be used by Telecinco in Spain.
Meridian's was used bybstations in other parts of Europe, and inbaamerica. Mostlybradio.
11:33 Sounds like a musical phrase from "Beauty And The Beast".

The ITV station IDs would also appear before programmes produced by them for the wider ITV network, so were recognisable nationwide.

The bbc 1 ID going from the amazing hot air balloon to that dancing mess still depresses me nearly 20 years on haha

I had a number of dreams set in America with British looking IDs and sounds across the TV dials.
Adam & Joe in one of the Channel 4 idents!
The BBC Scotland ident for me often suggests Two Doors Down or Still Game is about to start.

The LWT one was also early 1980s. Around 1983 i think. Because the T was not shown in the initial river ident.
