I can definitely a lot of similarities here between the presentation of Ireland's IDs to the UK's Also 6:16 looks kinda like the Channel 4 idents from 1999 13:40 surprised they still used 888 instead of the word "subtitles" to indicate that a program has subtitles in 2009. We stopped with 888 by the early 2000s. Also hold up, there's a UTV in the Republic of Ireland?
@@TheIridiumic138 The green 1988 ident didn't last long because of complaints that it didn't include the cross (the first RTE ident not to do so). They made the same mistake in 1995 and ended up editing it to include the cross at the start.
That's a nice Saint Patrick's Day special. The logos are nice too.

There was. After a year and something, UTV Ireland was bought by TV3 and renamed be3 in 2017. It became one of Virgin Media channels in 2018.
@@Kierunkowy7471 wait u mean Virgin Media One smthng?
@@Justin_0241 Yes. TV3 became Virgin Media One, 3e - Virgin Media Two and be3 - Virgin Media Three.

I love the Irish the same way as the British. Probably my second or third favorite country.
