Marble Run 2 - Animation by Max van Meer

Almost 7 years after my original Marble Run animation, the sequel is finally here! I've been working on this on and off ever since the original one went viral.
Some fun facts:
- With the first video, I actually added music after it had been on RUclips for years. Didn't stop it from getting its first million views, but this time I decided to do it right from the start. The music is Cloud Patterns by Silent Partner.
- I had a lot of trouble preventing the marbles from falling off the track. Every time you make a change, the dynamics have to cache for about 10 minutes and only then can you see if it works. I ended up writing a script that runs thousands of simulations and saves the ones that actually work. I got to pick the best one after letting it run for a few days, instead of spending weeks tweaking it.
- Rendering took 173 hours
- Everything was done with Cinema 4D R17, with a little color correction in Adobe After Effects.
