I understand where he is coming from. Rolex really hasnt been making tool watches ever since they discovered the margin was in precious metals and polishing. Their last real tool watch was the 5 digit preceramic sub, the 14060M. Yes, it is a 10k diver, so could I take it for light diving as long as the gaskets are in good condition? Sure. Would it be my first choice for serious diving instead of a dive computer... Hmm, maybe not?
I like the potential for sequels. You do the anticipation better than Disney. Next video, you apologize to Cartier because you understand it is a great watch for many actual watermen.

I agree though, most people don't wear dress watches anymore. You'd be better off getting a datejust which is more versatile or something like that

This is My take of perfect 3 watch collection:
g-shock 5600 (reliable everyday beater and substitute to chrongraph)
Orient Bambino v4 (elegant, low key, dressy watch)
for a diver I would choose some microbrand like titanium Zelos Hammerhead :)

Ok it's not affordable but it's more achievable than a Patek Calatrava.

only idiots can pay such a money for a just 3 hands watch as Rolex ! no complication, no personality, no flash…nothing ! and this Nothing is a Rolex :)
8:42 If you see the infrastructure that rolex is currently building in Romandie, we can easily imagine that they are planning to produce volume for the mass and to increase the quality and volume of more exclusive models (enameling, stones, metiers d'art, etc). As an ex. they recently opened manufacturing spaces dedicated to dials... This long play will solve many current issues.

The Tudor snowflake hand is absolutely hideous. Would never buy one as a result. Possible exception is the Pelagos due to the square dial indices.
Agreed. It can look a little out of place with circular hour markers, but I’ve grown to love it on the Pelagos. It’s got a charming, 8-bit effect going on.
Agree. I hate the snowflake except when paired with square indices. Currently thinking about getting the black fxd but kind of torn with the seaQ 39.5.
@@VectorSearch Tough choice! I think the GO is more “special” but I don’t find the design all that inspiring (Arabic numerals on a dive watch don’t really speak to me). The FXD is very cool but tool-ish and not all that versatile. If I was looking in that price range I’d probably go with an SLA017 or the No Time To Die Seamaster.
@@joshn.5625 yes the NTTD was also on my mind and I would purchase especially because it has no date and I love that. But the skeleton hands I’m not a big fan of. If Omega brought back the sword hands on their divers I would be all over it! The FXD would be my beater and wear it to Hawaii watch. As for the SLA017 are they hard to come by? I’m hesitant to spend that much on a Seiko diver. I’ve heard accuracy issues with it as well?
@@VectorSearch I agree on the Seamaster hands too! I guess nobody makes the perfect watch. Yes Seiko is known for quality control issues, though I don’t know if it’s prevalent in their higher range models. There are a number of SLA017’s on Watchrecon now ranging from $2500 - $3500

I have a couple of dive watches, the one with the best legibility at 40 feet is the Panerai! So, point proven wrong..
