    Another epic vid mate….fair play you do find some hidden gems ! It most certainly was slippery and sketchy to say the least…..right up Marc n Christian’s alley . You did well to spot that horrible hiddn drop….that could have had a nasty end . Keep ‘‘em coming pal 👍

    See you've found my local trails. There's been stuff in there on and off for almost over 20 years! I'll take a handsaw up next time just in case some of those branches are still down.

      @Stopadoodledoo  2 года назад

      Yep, been on the radar for quite a while - bloody scary aren't they? I won't be giving the location away although I may show a couple of people if that's ok (they will be told to not use Strava) 👍

      Bloody awesome place mate, about 20 minutes drive from home too - I could ride there and back if I was in the mood for a big ride but there's not much worth doing between here and there.
      The road gap is a bit special for sure. It's not so much the size of it but the run in and run out, especially on a day like this where everything was ridiculously slippery 😃

      Too right 😂. There's a couple I spotted that I never got chance to explore so will definitely be going back - probably spent a bit too long messing around on the first one, trying to ride the damned thing without dabbing or sliding in directions I didn't want to be travelling 😂

      I am so chuffed to have found it. Funnily enough, the biggest challenge was actually finding my way there as the way I went, it was a maze of back lanes. Way back, I found a far easier way that took a lot less time.
      Next visit won't be long off; it would be nice if it was drier but I think we all know what the chances of that are 😂

    Nice! Had this place in mind for a while now. Clearly some activity on Strava heat maps here so must have been somewhat popular over the years. Some other videos of it on the RUclips from years gone by but nothing too recent.
    Good to see there's something still rideable there still albeit I might save it for a dryer day after watching this! Keep up the exploring! Love seeing some local to Chester trails discovered!

    • @Stopadoodledoo
      @Stopadoodledoo  2 года назад +1

      Cheers mate, I've had this place on the radar for a while too; OS Maps suggested that it had potential and yep, Heat Maps was the giveaway. Definitely leave it until it's a bit drier though 😂

      There's stuff there that is scary for sure although I reckon it would be a different kettle of fish in the dry (although still not easy). As I said to Christian in his comment, you KNOW it's going to happen 😂

      It is mate, chuffed to have found somewhere else close by. I was worried that when I moved from Bingley, I was moving away from having loads of decent options to ride nearby (especially as Chester is flat) but my fears were unfounded. At a push, I could ride to this place and back but I'd be knackered and there's not much on the way there or back (at least not that I have found so far 😃)

  • @MTB_Derbyshire
    @MTB_Derbyshire 2 года назад +1

    He definitely knows how to find 'em does our Jason. That gap jump... the world just drops away ... just wow! Always a great feeling to discover hidden gems on the doorstep, especially with fuel prices as they are. You liking the Stan's flow wheels?

    • @Stopadoodledoo
      @Stopadoodledoo  2 года назад +1

      I think the 'secret' is that I go and explore a lot of places; I am of the opinion that a hell of a lot of wooded hillsides are hiding trails; find them on OS Maps and then use Strava to see if it looks like there is anything in them. I'm not always lucky (see the Shropshire one I went to look at in December, for instance) but can usually gauge whether somewhere is worth a visit.
      As for the wheels, too early to tell yet. They are a fair bit lighter than when they had RaceFace rims on and I have nothing but praise for the ZTR Flows I have had on older bikes (albeit the 26" versions) so hoping that these will be as sturdy 👍

    No, no and no!! Before you even ask when are we going 🤣 Jesus they looked crazy, when you say crazy, well that means a whole other level up for is mere mortals. Great video mate, you certainly found it, and you certainly rode it for sure 👍🏻👍🏻 got a gpx for it by any chance 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @Stopadoodledoo
      @Stopadoodledoo  2 года назад +1

      You say no but you know it will happen so why fight the inevitable? It's a great place to mess around and session bits if you don't want to do full (scary) runs and other than that road gap, would be a lot easier in the dry. Probably.
      I found it using the traditional methods mate, looking on maps and going exploring. I wouldn't know what to do with a gpx file if I was sent one (although I am betting that I could follow it without getting lost) 😂
