The North Face seems to sponsor a few climbing events and does pretty well. Had all expenses paid food and even free gear from an event in a gym close to me.
@@eurekaflows I think it would have been very unfortunate if all of them had topped all of the wall. It's about the challenge and the potential to fall, not about everyone performing to standard xyz. Also, get out of your armchair and on the wall ;-)
This event was so annoying. Free tickets completely oversold capacity and they were still letting people in without tickets in the morning which meant nobody could get in in the afternoon. People travelled from across the country to be stuck in a queue and unable to get in
I love his take on climbing without glasses. I've only just started climbing without mine as they prevent me from sticking close to the wall and I definitely agree it helps with the heights not being able to see far away clearly
i think everyone has his own perspective to share around this and all of them are good, and we all can enjoy and learn from it, you dont need to be 100% successful, actually for a lot of normal people like me is gonna be more relatable seeing a youtuber no pro climber like hanna, someone who enjoys climbing too and wants to progress on it and also feel the fear of trying something scary or new and overcome it
I've heard that such a soft stream is only to judge where the wateris. It takes either a harder stream or bubbles/stream from under water to break it. Falling objects are also an option, but thats not relevant now. Source: tiktok of an olympic diver explaining it. So don't blame me if I'm wrong.
@@tallky i mean ive seen it used in various competitive diving events etc personally. Not having seen the mythbusters episode but tbf that show is not necessarily peer reviewed, id have to look into it myself
Honestly if Louis had done this route in his glasses, I'd have been nearly as nervous as doing this climb! Seriously contacts were invented for a reason 😅
We all take for granted your skill, athleticism and great sportsmanship, Louis! A pleasure to watch you compete in this fun event :) And Kris is such a star!
As somewhat of a beginner who has only climbed 6a+ (once) and below, and is terrified of both heights and deep water: man, I so wish I’d been there. How can I find out about events like this in the UK, Spain and nearby countries?
That event must have been a massive success for The North Face, with half of climbing RUclips attending and creating content all on their own...

Unfortunately, most of those content creators couldn't show off the full length of the wall 😂
@@eurekaflowsstill good content tho

Nah, my eyes to bad, it messes too much with my precision and route reading.
Can't even tell a jug from a sloper.
Sam - your breakdown of the route was so appreciated, I wished I’d seen the same sort of commentary at the olympics. Great work!
Awesome event, I'm glad you explained the format and showed the Finals route!
This was like a 'Who's Who' of climbing, all in one place and lots of fun ;) Well done, both of you.
Really enjoying all the footage coming out of this event. Great job Catalyst Crew!
It’s crazy how in-sync you are with the other climber at 13:58
Went to the North Face festival on Saturday and had the best time! Hope they host it again next year!
13:50 makes me wonder if synchronized climbing should be a sport
Amazing !
Nice event
Finally a RUclipsr at this event that doesn't fall before the halfway mark.
Now u spoilered it...
He is a climber that does RUclips videos.
He isn't Michele Khare or Brandon Williams.
Where is the problem with that?
He has climbed in a IFSC comp before so you'd hope so lol

Awesome video! I really enjoyed this style
Any reason they are spraying the top surface of the water? Is that to break the surface for a softer fall?
It's so you can judge where the water is
I think both. It breaks surface tension too

Great job Louis! We love you! Ana and Marcel
So what happens to the chalk bags when you fall in the water?
All the chalk inside must be ruined
So I assume they maybe bring multiple bags and only minimally fill them
What grips are on the legs of your glasses?
I was hoping you would jump off too from the top, like some of them did.

But it is your risk, not mine.

It must have been a little bit annoying for the routesetters to set the holds perfectly spaced and angled to match the other side
awesome
yessssss
Good job guys! so who won the competition?
Nathaniel Coleman 😊
What happens with the chalk when it gets wet?
It gets wet
Jules getting a face full of the Thames first time 😅 better luck next time Coach
who won the event? :)
Nathaniel Coleman!
would be cool to climb that
Jules blaming louis for his own mistake 😂
Cool
nice =)
Was there any women climbing?
Yep! We were also going to cover the women’s but our female athlete got injured just before the event 😢
Jumping from 30 meters is mad wtf
Edit: couldn't read, it's actually 20 m, but still scary bruh and proper technique is required to not go to the ICU
You planned to win?
too much bass at around 12 minutes. Had to turn volume off to keep watching
had no idea this was happening
First view first comment first like
gz you win 1billion for first like and comment
Wow man what an honour@@Watercloud-11
Sorry Kris, we did not subscribe.
You failed him.
they guy on minute 10 drives me crazy. blaming Louis for his own weakness
