  • What Happened With The Brinsea Incubator? We used the Brinsea Incubator for the first time this year to hatch some new chicks to replace some of the laying hens that were lost in a predator attack a few weeks ago. Take a look at our Brinsea Incubator results for hatching some chicks for our homestead on Savvy Organics Farm. We have also ordered more laying hens for our pastured poultry operation where we love raising chickens.

Did you candle your eggs at any point during the breeding process? Because if you didn’t you’ll never know wether those eggs were fertilised to begin with. For those with fully developed chicks inside: Did you manage temperature and humidity levels correctly? Did you do a test run with the machine and put in a extra thermometer and hygrometer to check on deviations compared with the numbers on the display? I happen to know that Brinsea had problems with a batch of fans / control unit. It might be you have one of them. Brinsea will know, based on the production date.

Our incubator lasted for 2 batches. Turning cog fell off in the 1st hatching. Now won't heat.
