  • Welcome to my Hallstatt VLOG, as I bring you on my experience of the incredible Lakeside town of Hallstatt, in Austria. I will be doing a day-trip by getting the train from Salzburg to Hallstatt.
I travelled from Salzburg to Hallstatt by train really early in the morning. I arrived at the the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Salzkammergut region at around 7:45AM, luckily before all the crowds in March. On the boat into Hallstatt from train station, the view of the mountains was incredible, with such serene views from the middle of the lake and towards the town. I arrival ashore, and had Hallstatt Marktplatz (Hallstatt main square) all to myself which was just so surreal.
I hiked up to the famous Hallstatt Skywalk which took around an hour, but you can get the Hallstatt Cable Car up to the top of the Skywalk, which you can access for free. From here you can also visit the Hallstatt Salt Mine (Salzwelten) which is the world's oldest salt mine!
After hiking back down, I explored Hallstatt's medieval and fairytale like streets, exploring the cute little old and colourful houses and wandering.

Hi Ben, wow, what an awesome video and commentary of Hallstatt Austria. No worries about the video quality as with all of the natural beauty it is difficult to disappoint.
The first Viewpoint was really something to see. It is amazing that they were able to build all of the structures so near the mountains and water. That one Church was really fabulous with the beautiful Steeple and the mountain in the backdrop. The Sun was in the perfect place to see the reflection of the buildings and mountains in the water.
The Drone footage added a lot, allowing us to see the scenery from above which adds a whole new perspective.
Thanks for all of your efforts to travel, film, narrate and set to music all of the footage from your visit. The music set the perfect mood to enjoy everything about Hallstatt. Hope this video gets 1 million views and likes to repay your time and energy.

Thank you so much again Ben!
It certainly is a fairy-tale like place. Glad that all the effort to try capture it in the best way possible has paid off.
Unfortunately some of the videos & places just don't seem to get the traction and recognition, but hopefully this one starts climbing soon!

13:34 great that you got there super early and saw it without the crowds 👍🏻 and a good walk up the risky path where the sign wasn’t very clear 😉

Absolutely breathtaking.Love your videos.Everything about them.Shots, music choice ,narration. There is something melancholic, nostalgic about them. The algo recommended your channel when I was looking for something from Tatra mountains & am glad it did.Watched few times. Increased homesickness lol.

I love the music too, helps bring everything to life! I'm guessing you're from Zakopane or nearby? Beautiful place, I can't get enough!

From a place near Krakow, but Zakopane is my place on earth.Few suggestions / must see, when you are there next time. When in Morskie Oko go to Szpiglasowa Przelecz.( not accessible in winter).Stunning panorama of Polish & Slovakian peaks from the top.Visit Hala Gasienicowa ,trail from Kuznice ( anytime accessible,
but in winter crampons might be helpful as ice might be in some places & very easy trail to Rusinowa Polana anytime of year. Avoid going during school holidays as v.busy.When I was young Zakopane was unknown & quiet it's all different now thanks to YT.

    Stunning Vlog Ben.
Has to be one of my favourites. Some of the viewpoints and your drone shots are particularly beautiful shot. I guess how picturesque Hallstatt is helps. 😂 It's definitely on my bucket list now.
This video deserves a lot of attention, fingers crossed, it gets the number of views it deserves.
    Looking forward to next week.

Thanks a lot mate! Really is a stunning place, especially with nobody else around, clear skies and sun!
Unfortunately it seems this is going to be one of the videos that flops! See you for Vienna anyway 👋😁

Class mate! I really wanted to visit Eagle's nest but I think it only opens up in spring. Are you just visiting Hallstatt on a day trip from Salzburg?
Mentioned it in the video a good few times, but it's SO WORTH getting up mega early to have the place to yourself for a couple of hours!

Thank you! I think it was around 7:30… but in summertime you may be able to get an even earlier train, especially if travelling from Vienna!
Just it may be busier that time of year, and likely a longer journey from Vienna (though I’m not too sure). Just get there as early as possible if you can!
It’s truly special to have the place (almost) to yourself
