If you go in the summer you can hike up to places like Giewont, Rysy or Kasprowy Wierch. Giewont is 3 hours on foot uphill, but it’s more like a pilgrimage than a hike cause it’s so many people. An easier hike is Sarnia Skała and if you take Strążyska Valley you can see the Siklawica waterfall on the way up
Hi Ben, I was to Zakopane in late summer quite a few years ago. It is absolutely stunning and a lot of beautiful scenery. My Grandparents on my mother's side was from a town named Grywald Poland not too from from Zakopane in Southern Poland. This was a very well done video and enjoyed seeing Zakopane with snow on the ground.
Costa cafe, TK-Max, McDonald's I love this Polish culture and tradition. In such a beautiful place like Zakopane, turn to American shopping center, Sad... At least view never let down, beautiful as always.
Incredible mate! And I don't have anything planned, still have 2 more vids to edit from my week in Poland. Had crazy amounts of footage haha! You off anywhere?
Very nice video and informative I would say. I am visiting Zakopane during Christmas and this is my very first time to visit Poland. I need some suggestions and recommendations for accommodation. I don't have to stay in the centre of Krupowki area where all the expensive and luxury hotels around. Would be good 10mins walk to the Krupowki. Is there any public transport to the Morskie Oko , I meaned straight to the Lake area?
Thank you! You will love it. For accommodation, I usually just check booking.c0m and airbnb. There should be plenty places hopefully! You can only get public transport to the car park I done the walk from (I believe), from there it is a couple of hours walk. You do have the option of paying for a horse-ride up from the base. Hope that helps
Hi. Some more info about architecture style that you liked: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zakopane_Style For example those radiant boards on the roof gables symbolize sun rays. Morskie Oko literally means Sea's Eye or Eye of the Sea (Baltic Sea of course) - very symbolic and romantic name - I would say typical for Polish national character. Hope you will come back to Poland soon - there's lot of things for you to discover around Zakopane and in whole country. Have you been on thermal baths? Pieniny mountains are quite nearby Krakow and Zakopane. It's beautiful there, especially in autumn. 🙂
It's hard to say really, it's special in summer and winter. The snow is certainly magic in winter time, but it's also incredible in summer too. The views, the colour and the glacial lakes, although it's probably just busier in summer. Maybe autumn and spring may be the quietest, as winter sports are pretty popular in winter
Mate, watch out when walking on the frozen lakes. a) you never REALLY know the thickness of the ice b) the Park guards will be more than happy to fine you
😨 oh wow really? There were so many people walking on the lake so I just assumed it was fine. I’m guessing perhaps nearer the start of winter, the ice may not be so thick
US is one of the coldest countries in the world. Much more colder then Poland. Only the sun belt states are warm in Minnesota they have temperatures -55 Celsius in winter
