    Clearly a man who is compassionate, he cared enough for his garden to give that man a run through on weeds, knowing he was gonna take on Mugen and Jin on his own, his own words "don't disappoint" tells the audience he was quite prepared to die mainly from boredom, knowing the Samurai era was coming to a close.

    One of my favorite parts of this scene is how mugen gets immediately ready the second Karaiya mentions Fuus location. This was not something he’d have done in the beginning of the show and between this and a him telling her to get back during his fight with Sara show how much he’s grown to care about her. I really like small moments like that.

    I've seen so many people say that Sara could beat him, but that's inaccurate.
    From what we know of Samurai Champloo, Kariya is THE strongest character. Jin only beat him by trying to commit suicide, in the actual fight Kariya still won

      @@calvitocalvon1711 I never said Jin didn't win fair and square, I know that.
      But another thing we are told in the anime is that Jin was told by his Master to use that technique only when he knew he had no other hope of winning against his opponent, so Jin using that technique pretty much tells us that he acknowledged he couldn't beat Kariya without it.

    • @MrHoppybunny
      @MrHoppybunny  4 года назад +16

      Unfortunately no. They sent Kariya because Jin and Mugen killed Sara [can't remember which]
      And they also needed Fuu to lead them to him. Fuu's father didn't fight much anymore, he was too old by the time of his death.

    • @davidgn40
      @davidgn40 4 года назад +27

      No.
      After Mugen killed Sara (because Sara allowed him to, she could've killed him) the government thought that Mugen and/or Jin actually beat her fair and square, so they went straight to Kariya, because they wanted him to kill the trio and the samurai who smells of sunflowers.
      This only shows that Kariya is likely stronger than Sara, not that the samurai who smells of sunflowers is the strongest.

    I didn't understand this, why mugan was so outmatched when fighting kariya, but Jin gave him a good fight. They both supposed to be on equal level,I don't think mugan would have won if he would have fought kariya. Even Kariya acknowledge that jin is almost equal to him in skills, but didn't acknowledge mugan at all.

    • @MrHoppybunny
      @MrHoppybunny  3 года назад +23

      Mugen's fighting style is partly based on luck and pure instinct. Jin's sword style (I forget the name) is something he practiced everyday with his sensei and eventually even surpassed him. I feel like Jin never used his full strength against Mugen because he knew it wasn't necessary as Mugen is a good guy like him.

    • @vikassaini6320

      @@MrHoppybunny I don't think jin is a kind of person who holds back. He always go for a kill, he killed his own master. He also said that to mugan that you are the only 1 I couldn't kill.And mygen was from Ryukyu so he was a pirate,he fight's on instinct but not on luck. So we could say he is less efficient but more adaptable fighter.

      Makes it harder to see his head movement. And you can't see his eyes. It distracts you, so you can't see the full body movement in general, which is very important in determining the actions your opponent is going to take. Ofcourse i am no samurai.
