  • Speculation is building that Ukraine has begun receiving the F-16s promised by its Western allies. On December 22, the Netherlands PM announced that it would deliver 18 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine to fight Russian forces. Ukraine’s deployment of F-16s paves the way for a faceoff between the F-16 and the Russian MiG-29. The clash will be closely watched around the world, to see how the similarities and differences between the jets play out on the battlefield. Watch the video to find out more.

There's barely 130 serviceable Su-35 and 130 early 1980s Mig-31 fast, rugged interceptors... and they need to protect a land roughly 90% of the COMBINED lands of the USA and China (3rd & 4th largest lands on earth, respectively)... so even the Su-35s & Mig-31's aren't going to be heavily used near Ukraine, much less INSIDE it against F-16s, which are well integrated with NATO grade anti-aircraft/anti-missile systems like the Patriot.
There's only 15 or so Su-57s, so they really are just advanced prototypes. Fewer still Mig-30.
In comparison, the US Air Force alone has over 10,000 very serviceable aircraft, with THOUSANDS of well maintained and/or new aircraft (like the F-35: currently there are over 450 F-35s, A & B & C variants).
Both Ukraine and Russia are STRAINING big times.... but Russia is pushing the very limits, despite starting out with many times more resources from the 1950s - 80s. Russia and Putin are wrong on most major things; but they are not wrong, when they say Ukraine still is standing only because of the US and Western Europe/NATO.
Fighting a war of attrition when you KNOW the country you're fighting against is supported by NATO, because it borders NATO nations.... that's one stupid finger-crossing tactical warring act you're engaging in... a war that has killed and wounded over 500,000 on both sides combined so far, in less than 2 years... with half of Ukraine by turned into rubble.
Russia, people need to understand, has a GDP that is reduced to being just 50% fo the GDP of illiterate California.
There is NO MAGIC around some hard facts:
when your nation is 90% of the lands of the US and China combined --- meaning you MUST use tons of resources to secure its GIANT perimeters ---- when your economy is ~50% of the economy of California, and when you're being cut off from trade and finance with 95% of the world's most advanced and richest nations.... saying you're willing and able to revert to eating just potatoes and grasses and barks, like your grandparents did in WW3... THAT isn't the most assuring way to engage in such a big, mostly war, in Europe... "if all the evil West would stop supporting Nazi Zelensky..."

The thing about the f-16 that makes all these comparisons and predictions difficult is that it's been around for so long and has so many variants. It makes a very big difference *which* f-16 you are taking about. The capabilities of different versions can be as much as several generations apart, in certain areas like radar etc.

They've already been using AGM-88's against Russian radars. They're outdated and no match for modern ECM and AAA systems. The U.S. is proceeding from the assumption that the Russians are still using systems from the 1980's, like, they are. But those old Soviet analog radars are in museums now. Or scrapped. Ukraine ain't North Vietnam, circa 1969-70.

Yeah they are replacement for old Su-24 - which Ukraine now has like 4 left or maybe 2. Still Ukraine did loose these to Russian long range attacks. We know in last three weeks at least two UA aircraft were lost as 2 pilots were reported dead... well I guess it could also be on the ground.

  • @gauravdeepsingh7417
    @gauravdeepsingh7417 5 месяцев назад +6

READ ONLY IF U WANNA KNOW FACTS...
U got the F-16's range wrong... MiG-29 has a range of 1500km without fuel tanks and f-16 has about the same range without fuel tanks also BUT 4,220km is with fuel tanks!! .... Also u got the seat's wrong both F-16s and MiG-29s are available in both a twin seat (tandem configuration) and a single seat configuration... Also as F-16 was developed from the Ground UP, SO was THE MIG-29 (it is not a derivative of a MIG-17!!!).
Now, from the photos which are being circulated it can be seen that the F-16s are from Romania, that is... they are F-16MLU variants (price per unit : 38million usd) vs MiG-29S (price per unit : 20-25 million usd)... nice nice BUT ill tell you the INTERESTING prat... Russia isn't using any MiG-29s in the war only 😆 . So, what even is the point of this video... the F-16s will only help Ukraine defend their skies (not establish air dominance) the only edge of F-16 against a Su-35S (their actual enemy) is their AIM-120s, not their radar (unlike any other conflict involving F-16s, this time the APG-68 (range : 297 Km)wont be the best fighter radar in the conflict as the Russian N035 Irbis-E (range :400 Km) simply out preforms the reputed APG-68 BUT WAIT!!! this is more to it 🖐. The F-16s which Ukraine is getting are F-16MLUs, They don't even have the APG-68 radars, they have even older APG-66(v2)s (range : 55.6 Km)... this means that the Russians will be detecting them about 344 Km before the F-16s getting to know about their presence (Note: no data link ha been used in this scenario). So even the advantage of AIM-120 goes away (not entirely but a significant portion does).
SO, my final conclusion of the the question " CAN F-16s GIVE UKRAINE THE EDGE IN THE BATTLEFIELD ? " is... NO (at lest F-16 MLUs wont as they'll be 4th gen fighters going up against 4++ gen fighters)

Let’s take it like this, as competent as the f16 is Ukrainian pilots only have less than a year to train and master everything, experience still counts Russia has pilots that have been flying these S-U fighter jets for years decades I will say and that’s got to be considered
It’s like a bringing a motogp racer to come drive the redBull formula 1 racing car against the rest of the field and only has a couple of months to prepare, Yh the RB19 is dominant but it will still take more than the car to beat the other drivers in the other cars because they have more experience about driving a formula 1 car. How the F-16 does will depend on the variant they are given. If they've recieved all but the very latest upgrades, it's easily on par to the Su-35 radar & missiles as well.
If it had the most advanced upgrades,(pretty sure only the U.S. has this) it would be superior to the Su-35 and possibly even the Su-57.
Anyway, with the latest upgrades, it then falls to pilot skills. Of which ruZZia has lost the majority of it's best pilots at this time.

Ahem: The amount that America has spent so far to help Ukraine defend itself (spilling THEIR blood) is TRIVIAL, a small rounding error on the yearly military budget, perhaps 3% for the last two years, almost all of which is spent on paying American defense contractors who themselves are paying high salaries to American workers to backfill America’s still-bulging weapons stores with the latest & greatest of America’s newest military innovations. For that tiny cost, Ukraine has virtually smashed huge quantities of Russian military equipment which is otherwise a standing threat against Europe & regions all around Russia’s massive exterior borders. The Republicans who are entirely standing in the way of us helping Ukraine now (and in even greater amounts) are literally traitors against America’s most vital geopolitical interests. Ronald Reagan, the standard bearer of the Republican Party for the last 4 plus decades, would throw these schmucks under the bus so hard for what they’re doing to help KGB-controlled Russia that many of them would immediately resign. I say this as someone who studied Government & Politics of the Soviet Union/Russia as my collegiate major along with history (which so many people know almost none of and/or simply ignore to their detriment). Please call your Congresspeople & Senators & feel free to say what I said above.

In this war it's going to come down to more than what's on the paper. It's going to come down to actual maintenance and resilience of the air frame and the f-16 is completely lacking in this regard

    • @patrickday1816
      @patrickday1816 5 месяцев назад

FOD damage yes, but the F16 airframe is just as resilient as the MIGs, it has to be to be able to do what it does. The US tends to make really reliable and tough equipment. We also place a priority on maintaining said equipment so we don’t run into the same problems the Russian equipment had in the first year of the war which was poorly maintained trucks and other stuff. The big question is whether the ground crews will be able to properly execute western level maintenance in a short period of time.

    • @gsc512
      @gsc512 5 месяцев назад

@@patrickday1816 That's what I'm talking about as far as air frame resilience. It's a single engine fighter jet and so if it sucks up something off of a dirty runway which Ukraine doesn't have very many clean runways or if they have to operate off of improvised runways that jet is screwed. If it picks up even a single rock you cannot take off the MiG-29 had flaps over the intake, That's why it has the lovers at the top above the intake. It breathes through those when it's operating on dirty air strips also if one engine were fouled and a modern warfare she could at least get the missiles airborne.
F16 landing gear is not as robust as the mig-29s or the mid 35s. It's just simply not
Fuel capacity and range are not on par with the mig 29s.
Compatibility with the equipment that they have again is something that the F-16 is defeated on in a country such as Ukraine.
The air frame as far as the wings spar. Yes, I mean it can pull the g's and everything else that's required and structurally component wise, as far as the ribs and all the other components of the air frame, they're in there quite well. She did meet military standard in the USA. I will give you that but as far as being a resilient good to go air frame for a country that surrounded by an enemy that doesn't really have maintained airstrips or well trained ground crew.
You couldn't get worse of an aircraft to send to them in a modern airframe.
Proof of point is that who owned the F-16, the US Air Force or the US Marine corps??
Operational differences between the two force as far as NATO doctrine and military doctrine of the United States?? What air frame do you think they should have sent? Ukraine I'll give you a hint. It has a twin engine. It was just recently redesigned into a super h@rn3t?? Lmfao
Also, I'm glad they didn't get that bir because she's one of my personal favorites right behind the f4
And we haven't even gotten into the maintenance hours required per hour of flight into the equation nor some of the other time to get components
And also what the Russians did in one year is simply remarkable. It took the USA since Blackhawk down halfway into the Iraqi war to even upgrade the Hummer 15 years later
I forgot to mention their operational budget also allowed for this, which is just quite remarkable. They were able to get the whole Air Force back online. Put new aircraft into production, revitalize their bombing fleet and everything within one year. Spending about a 10th on the defense budget and without politicians picking fights with every small sheep herding country in the world
I also forgot to add the NATO billionaires that were raping and murdering the children of Ukraine prior to the Russians going in there. So to me it's a rescue mission and I don't care who's performing it
The USA could have, but when those girls would be knocking on the gates when we were overseas we were told to turn them away because they didn't have their passport. But I can't recall too many kidnapping victims. That said they grabbed their paperwork right before the man grabs them

Zelensky didn't try to prevent this conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time.
Russia's national security was compromised once nato began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining nato was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.
20th September, 2021. Ukraine launched military drills with US and nato.
NATO is not a defensive alliance. Nato illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter).
We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc.
Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster?
Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest.
Zelensky also tried to invoke article 5 under false pretenses. Remember the incident in Poland.
Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed.
Poroshenko said, “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens-theirs will hide in the basements”.
Russians will never forget the 2014 Odessa massacre. The whole world needs to know about it.
Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country.
Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. (13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list.)
Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list.
There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas. (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence).
The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present. Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.
Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) RIP.
The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims).
The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter.
I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion.
I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written.
Hopefully someone will write an UNBIASED book, stating facts and allowing the readers to form their own judgments. Everything I said can be fact checked and verified.

I hope you're getting well paid for spreading this around - or at least you get a free pass from not being forced into a meat wave attack.

The number of ethnic Russians fighting for Ukraine against Russia proves these claims false.

Except MiG-29 wasn't used by Russia in Ukraine at all. For fighter duties they use Flankers and Foxhounds. Su-35S and MiG-31BM are plain scary, Su-30SM is dangerous as hell. And possibly might get blown out of the sky by a Su-57. And Russians are supported by A-50U Mainstay which were upgraded to a very high standard.

it's not the plane or fighter jets, it's the pilots who will handle these aircraft in the air battle. what's the use if you have a great fighter plane, but if the pilot doesn't know how to handle it?

It nearly always comes down to the pilot. An experienced vet can take out a jet generations ahead of someone who's more inexperienced
