Jane Greer was a very beautiful, classy, and talented actress, there will never be another one like her. I loved the way she spoke and the sound of her voice😃😍❤️👍👍
Jane Greer was fantastic. Such a shame Howard Hughes ended her career out of spite. Also love seeing the interviewer, the inspiration for Jiminy Glick.
Even though Skip is not well prepared, he has lots great actors on. Jane Greer, I couldn't stop looking at her, WOW ! Both women sound like good people. 1985 interview. The most important thing is, he has so many legends on from Hollywood. I've watched may of these shows, and the guests are so great.
I could not have said it better. I don't care for Skip's off the wall & erratic interviewing skills, but he certainly was able to have some big & amazing names from Hollywood's Golden Age as guests ! Amazing & awesome !
Such a very great, under rated, unappreciated and mostly forgotten classic. Kirk Douglas, Robert mitchum and of course the wonderful Jane Greer. The way she changed from good girl to bad girl at the last half of the movie was really so surprising and shocking that I have never forgotten that movie and her superior and brilliant performance!😱 Why on God's green earth wasn't she recognized and supported by the academy awards? Probably that sorry s.o.b. Howard Hughes. So very sad he blacklisted her and all that great and exceptional talent was wasted away, unappreciated and the world didn't get to enjoy! God bless this dear woman.
@@jubalcalif9100 I was surprised and very happy to read your reply! Wicked and cruel, he blacklisted this Superior actress from the industry. Just like Alfred Hitchcock did to his star in "the Birds"and "Marnie"-Tippi Hedren"! (Spelling?)👹👺🥺😥💌
omg... The interruptions are maddening. I saw a "Day at Night" Interview with Myrna Loy, that was very much like this. The interruptions!a Both actresses handled their interruptors with great grace.
Indeed ! I wanna reach into the screen and slap Skip & tell him to shut up & let his guest finish answering his questions ! I have watched many of his interviews and am always amazed at how well his guests take his style. Classy people, for sure !
At 5:33 she delivered that no like she wanted to shoot him. If you’ve seen out of the past you know she played Kathy in a way she was ruthless as hell but could sweet while unloading on you😂.

23:56: 'Comics are not funny. What do you think Peg, I mean Ryan, I mean you're a comedienne?' 'My first name is Fran'. 'Fran, I know.' How did this guy make a career of this?! '
Wow, she was such a beautiful woman in her prime, made some great movies with Robert Mitchum, back then either you had it or you didn't , most likely all natural then too
I know Fran Ryan from Season 1 of the Doris Day Show when it was a rural show. When it because a Mary Tyler Moore wanna be, the season 1 cast was replaced. She's also well know to my generation for starring in one of the "better" '80s teen sex "comedies" called Private School with Ray Waltson.
This guy's maybe the worst interviewer ever. At one point Jane Greer says of Howard Hughes, who owned RKO Pictures, the studio that employed her at the time, "He told me he wouldn't put me in any movies" -- and the host doesn't even ask her WHY. Hughes refused to cast Jane Greer in any movies? How does anyone not follow up on that??
Sigh....I know ! Skip infuriates me with his constant interrupting & suddenly changing the subject ! Grrrrr ! But I must admit, he had some truly wonderful guests ! That's what keeps me coming back to watching these "blasts from the past" !
Too many here pay more attention to Skip. I enjoyed what Greer and Ryan had to say. You guys can fuss about the host. I enjoyed the Ladies. And Greer is still HOT here.
Goddam, but I love Jane....unforgettable in Out of the Past and The Big Steal. But she is so poised, self-controlled and direct in her responses to Lowe's inane interviewing. Mary Astor would have walked out !!
I would have liked to see him interview Robert Mitchum. The late great Mr Mitchum did not suffer fools gladly. I don't think he'd have put up with Skip's interrupting for more than five minutes. He'd have either got up & walked out or told Skip to shut up & let him finish.
I may be wrong but I think I know why this man interrupts everybody while talking 90 miles an hour, rudely not ever showing the guests their due respect etc. Maybe he doesn't mean to be perceived as this and he is so very excited and happy to see and talk to them and he has so very many things that he wants to ask but he is very rushed with so very little time! Why was this man always only given or just allowed only 30 minutes or less with each guest? Most of the other interviewers are allowed much more time and they're more relaxed in their interviews .. they are also better produced with bigger budgets, a class studio that includes excellent sound and video equipments. Sadly,he is probably doing his very best with what the cheap producers have given him but he is laughed at, judged by everyone for this poor quality kind of show. Still, if we didn't have his pitiful shows, we would never have gotten to see and enjoy all his many interviews!🤔😱🙁😌🤗👍 p.s. with all of his anxiety etc- medications such as prosaic would have helped this rushed man. Deep inside he seems to be a good and descent person.
You are right on every count. These shows were produced with zero budget, mostly in high school auditoriums with students running the cameras and controls, or at cable companies. Jane Greer was the perfect woman - multi-talented, absolutely gorgeous, sweet, kind, lovely, adorable ...
I agree. She exuded warmth, class, kindness. She was LOVELY.

Love Jane Greer but this "interviewer"
What an opportunity this guy had with a noir great and he blew it.
Border Bus Skip's great and I love Jane Greer too.

Jane Greer. 1924-2001. She would have been 61 in 1985.
She kept your beauty & was always a lovely lady. A true class act.
A beauty still.
She seemed such a lovely person

I think he was on for nearly 30 years, as long as Carson. The antithesis of Carson.
Hilarious! Not sure if Skip ever actually prepared for an interview but they sure were entertaining to watch!
Mike Eyre the absolute worst host in the history of television
I was thinking that Fran, if she wanted to, might take Lowe over her knee and give him a shallacking.
He's adorable. More like a fan than an interviewer.

M. M. Fran quit half way through season one, she and Doris didn’t get along. The part was retooled for character actress Naomi Stevens.

He's such a fussy, gossipy caricature. Compare him to someone like Robert Osborne from TCM ... night and day.

"Tell me about that". Martin Short definitely based his hilarious character Jiminy Glick on this guy.
I came here after re-watching Out of the Past. I’ve never seen Skip before - but as soon as I did I thought - Jiminy Glick!! Lol

Agree ! Opposite Dick Powell. Sort of a noir Western. Xlnt 40s flick !

Hollywood "Peter Puffer"
Turn up the volume on the lower left corner of the screen and also on your computer. The sound is there, just look at the other comments.
