Quick question: although you revealed excellent information regarding LG's desktop mode, why didn't you mention the fact that when open in dual-screen mode, the LG Wing's bottom screen can be used as a mouse / trackpad when connected to a monitor in desktop mode? I do this all the time and it works great! Simply open up the trackpad in the Wing's menu and you're good to go! Again, thanks for all you do for the LG community! It's greatly appreciated!!

I often look at people who rave about the latest iPhones and Samsung galaxies having some amazing camera features with 1billion megapixel but what do they do once they buy the phones? Install Snapchat and use the fancy filters. Things you could easily do with a $300 smartphone.

Excelent video. Thanks for being so thorough and answering all our doubts. Regarding the lack of wireless desktop mode, an HDMI to USB C cable is cheap and easy to get, so I really don't think that is an issue.
Man I already forgot about this. I use desktop mode all the time during quarantine in 2020, stopped doing that after i sold my V60. Last week I just bought a cheap V60 and now i know what I'm doing with my old TV
I have a v60. It definitely has wireless desktop mode. I have a monitor with Miracast built in and i use screen+ with it. Edit: both the wing and v60 have wireless desktop mode
@@TheTechPreacher There should be an option in the quick tiles for something called screen share. It'll look for nearby miracast devices (works with roku, fire stick, etc) to cast the phone to. Give it a shot.
It's great to see someone like LG take the initative to create another Android Dekstop Mode iteration after Samsung DeX and Huawei EMUI Desktop. While this doesn't completely replace my Windows PC due to Android limitation, I always love this kind of feature when travelling light. It feels so satisfying to have a mobile PC from the hotel bedroom's TV.
Not sure about other devices, but for V60 you don't necessarily need wired (hdmi/usb) connection to use desktop mode. You can connect via screen sharing (wirelessly) and switch to desktop mode. Can be used perfectly wirelessly.
Love the continued coverage of the LG devices, this is how a proper tech nerd does it - good for you. I've relegated my v60 to my girlfriend (and she genuinely loves the device), but I miss the concept a lot!!! Wish LG mobile didn't fold and that I'd be typing this on a v70!
For the record, my G8X (unlocked US) ever since it got the Android 11 update can also be used as a standalone device during desktop mode. I wonder if it has something to do with the chip.

So I have a V20, V30 & V60. I am also thinking about getting the LG Velvet just because it seems like a legit device. Btw if using a USB C Hub you can use a Wired Usb Mouse & Keyboard. Great Day question for you. My v60 is pushing only 640p to the portable monitor using USBC to USBC data cable is normal? The Monitor is 1080p. Does it require USBC to HDMI for full resolution?
Mmmmm that's a good question I never look at the resolution it looks great to the eye with no pixelations. It looks very sharp so I never looked at the resolution it looks great to me so I didn't bother looking at it. Thanks for the information

I hate it LG is not in the mobile game anymore. The screen+ could use more attention and updates. Every phone should have a "Samsung Dex" like feature.
Yeah, especially the wing and the Velvet are using a mid-range chip. And the 865 had really good thermals and in hindsight, I think it was an underrated chip when it came out. Now that we're dealing with the throttling and bad thermals in the last two generations of Snapdragon flagships.

Lol I have many LG phones and now since there are getting updates it's a very good time to talk about them.
