Discovering LIMOGES 🇫🇷 The National Capital of PORCELAIN Production and Visiting Museum

📍Limoges is a city in southwest-central France. It’s known for its decorated porcelain, much of which is on display at the Musée National Adrien Dubouché. In the historic center, medieval timber-frame houses line Rue de la Boucherie. Set in the former Episcopal Palace, the Musée des Beaux-Arts showcases the history of the city's medieval enamel. The Gothic Cathédrale St-Étienne de Limoges took 6 centuries to complete. Limoges has been dubbed “the city of the fire arts” because of its long history of metalwork, enamel work, and of course, porcelain. The city's biggest porcelain museum is the Adrien Dubouche National Museum, which you will be visiting together with the art group during the art retreat.
📍Musée national Adrien-Dubouché is a French national museum dedicated to Limoges porcelain and the history of ceramics. Founded in 1845 and located in Limoges, it is part of the Cité de la céramique - Sèvres et Limoges public establishment.
📍Limoges Fine Arts Museum (Musée des Beaux-Arts de Limoges)
Scenic art museum opened in 1912 & featuring many local archaeological
relics & sculptures.
