I live in the country town of Bathurst NSW so this track is basically my backyard. Out of all the games shown here ACC is the most accurate in terms of track and surroundings
Not that surprising, I think it's been A LONG while since iRacing gave Bathurst a refreshed look. Sounds like they're paying some attention to V8SC series this year though; we now have the new cars from the series and Adelaide just got scanned this past month.
For the most part I'd say it's the most accurate, track especially. Surroundings for the top section I'd say Automobilista and FM8 got the trees more correct. There do be LOTS of trees, especially around the BLCC
@@DerpSherman you got the spelling right. I need to invest in a PC and iracing at some point. the supercars and the dirt racing is all very attractive for me
As somebody who watches the Bathurst 1000 every year, I feel like Grid and iRacing nailed not only the track but the surroundings. Forza made the track too wide most of the time and it just didn’t feel like Mount Panorama as much
Honestly I very much disagree as someone who's grown up watching Bathurst. Forza has by far the best version imo, they nail the elevation changes and also all the off camber bits so you really have to know where to put the car to do well on the circuit. Also it's not very wide only about 2 car widths making it pretty much impossible to overtake once you get to the cutting unless you force a mistake which also normally ends in a pile up 😂
As someone who lives in Bathurst and has driven around the track more times than I can remember, iRacing to me feels like the most accurate version of the track. The width of the track as well as the visibility and length of the corners are spot on. It’s truly impossible to grasp the extremities of this track until you’ve been around it yourself
Interesting how much the downhill affects the car in different games; especially the early games seem to have very little concept of weight transfer and gravitational acceleration, while some later games drive completely differently (in forza motorsport 7 you can see quite clearly that the forward weight transfer from combined downhill and braking results in almost exclusively breaking from the front tires, so the car cannot slow very quickly)
its crazy to me that TOCA/GRID have basically never updated the track in terms of correcting the elevation changes. V8 Challenge for 2001 looked pretty good
Lol no 😂. I've been watching Bathurst my whole life and even gt7 fails to nail mount panorama. Forza and I racing are the only 2 that nail the elevation and off camber bits as well meaning you actually have to take real racing lines to go fast in both games where as gt6 and 7 you can just take the corners like it's any other track. There's almost no elevation detail and most of the corners are flat meaning you don't have to change up how you turn into a corner based on where you are or how you brake because coming into a corner like Forest elbow you really have to be light on the brakes since it's slightly off camber and then also patient on the gas otherwise you'll fly wide or oversteer into the inside wall which btw both accurately happen in Forza
2:53 There were plans to have the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore as DLC cars in Grid (2008), but they were cut. With the help of mods (Like GRID Xtra), they can be restored.
Forza Motorsport 8 on PC at midnight with conditions set to clear. Hands down the best night racing experience for this track. If you drive the typ35s at night with no lights it's such a spooky racem
These games show no justice for this track (Ive walked this track)now imagine this section but three times steeper especially the dipper that part the road slopes so hard
As someone who regularly plays both Forza and GT this is the one track Forza absolutely nails. Getting a good lap makes you feel like a pro because you really have to nail each corner and you can feel the car constantly being on the edge ready to fly into a wall with any wrong move
From my experience the toca racing game you would need to brake before the bridge, on acc you have to brake just before you go over the rise on turn in and on forza you can brake ( if your brave enough to do it ) right on the first bend on it.
They sure do get better over time. Of the last two, Grand Turismo is way better than Forza. A couple of things almost none of them get right. 1 : At the top, Skyline, no game comes close to replicating what that's like. The road goes out ahead of you, and then vanishes, and it's just like running off a spring-board ~ like walking the plank. 2 : The Dipper ~ the second left-hander on the way down. The concept there, think spiral staircase, with the inside edge being the pole (vertical) the spiral is centred on. The drop-off is about 3 ~ 4 ft, a bit over a meter, and it's virtually vertical. 3 : Get to the Esses, that's a pretty easy left-right ~ left-right, then it gets a whole lot steeper, then there are high steep cuttings on both sides. Then it gets steeper again, and you're charging at a stone /earthen wall, with no way out. You know, you remember, this corner is called Forrest Elbow and it's a tight sharply downhill left, but your eyes tell you you are heading into your grave. It's like driving into an all brick garage at about 80 mph, with a downward grade of one in 6 or one in 5 ... Unless you have been around that piece of road, at rather more than the safe legal speed limit (perhaps not at full race speed) you have no idea how steep or how demanding it is. Television squashes the gradients and smooths everything out. It is WAY more extreme than it looks on television. There are up-grades and down-grades like a staircase. And skyline will put your heart clean up into your mouth the first time you get there. And the run up the hill and over the top isn't exactly dull either.
It's a mobile app though, as you are saying yourself. This video is only showing PC and console video games. Most channels like mine don't cover mobile apps, so it shouldn't surprise you when a mobile app is not in a video like this.
