One of the greatest shows of all time. Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt had unbelievable chemistry. "Up In Smoke", the multi-part episode where the newsstand where Paul and Jamie met burns down and all of a sudden we're in an alternate reality where they have never met, is my favorite single episode of any show. And I still use Lisa Kudrow's waitress shtick when I have an incompetent server at a restaurant. "I'll have the same thing she's having." "Uh, let me see if we can do that..."

Jamie and Paul Buchman are the 90’s answer to Laura and Rob Petrie. Best compliment I can give them. Especially love Murray who carried a few of their best shows! My favorite fell off the couch moment was when Paul had to go to Canada and his passport was in Jamie’s purse but Jamie and Lisa accidentally switched purses. At the end Lisa gets to the airport gives Jamie her purse back Jamie finds Paul’s passport then as Lisa is looking in her own purse she says to Jamie “Where’s my taser?” Then you see Paul convulsing on the floor after he thought the taser was an electric shaver!🤣😂
Hey Myjoy747 had a crush on Helen since 1975 when she appeared on an episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Helen played Murray’s daughter and her and Joyce Bullifant who played Murray’s wife came to WJM’s newsroom to it to lunch with Murray and to shop for a new winter coat. Saw her on that show and said boy if she was in my HS.
@@lalyflorindo yes, they also have like mini interviews of Paul and Helen about some of the episodes. These are also on RUclips- a guy asks them questions about certain episodes and Paul and Helen talk about them for a couple minutes. I’m not sure how many versions of the DVD sets there are, though. I know someone who has a version that doesn’t have those extras.
I’m currently rewatching the full series and have to say it holds up in 2023…definitely one of the best sitcoms!

Up in Smoke is definitely in my top 10 favorite eps. It makes me cry every time.

I watched it all the way through twice last fall, and now me and a bunch of my friends are watching it together.

Watching this makes me wish there was a blooper reel out there for my two dads, must of been plenty of hilarious moments filming that show too.
