But overall I think Trick or Treat is the the epitome of what Tales is at the core. It ranks so much higher than any other episode that I pretty much use it as the standard.
@Rei6nofRot6 Solid top 5 list and almost the same as mine lol except I’d put Sorry, Right Number over Do Not Open This Box because it was a great short story by the legend Stephen King 🐐.
Tough to pick five..! I also think Yattering and Jack is up there because Clive Barker.
Halloween Candy def up there with Savini’s amazing early works.
This is one of the most unnerving episodes. The idea of sitting in a train car with a man chewing an apple in my ear for all eternity is a terrifying idea. All joking aside, the idea of spending eternity going nowhere is pretty scary. Like, does everyone who dies goes to a train car like that? That afterlife is almost as horrifying as the one in Stephen King’s Revival.
The train is Purgatory, for people who don't know/can't accept that they're dead.
This is my favorite episode in the entire series!
At first the lack of a definitive conclusion left me feeling a bit unfulfilled, knowing pretty much from the very beginning what the episode was about, but once I started thinking on EXACTLY what happened in the story I realized that putting too fine a point on the ending might have somewhat diminished the experience. Sometimes it works to see the story through to the bitter end, like the killer telephone episode, and sometimes it's better to be left with a little mystery.
The mysterious endings is what I love most about the show!!! 🙌🏽
I just returned from the... Primus, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer concert... Your show seems to be my only way to calm out the ringing in my ears and come to a rest :) thanks you guys, I love every show you guys put out!
That’s awesome! I saw that show over in Atlantic City early this month. Incredible experience.
Wth, im leaving for the michigan stop of the tour in a matter of hours. What an odd comment to find on a totally unrelated video. I havent been this hyped for a show in a long time.
@@HOAXTelevision you’re in for a real treat! I’ve never seen anything like it.
I'll just sit here quietly and wait🤠
The old man kept his hair even as a corpse.
Good for him. 😊
These somewhat one location episodes really hit the hardest. Another banger guys!
This episode depressed the hell out of me as a teen.
I remember Last Train to Clarksville. Christ, I'm old.
Someone out there needd to give that woman a break. She doesn't seem to be a threat to humanity . Let's have her released from that train and go to her rest.
This is my all time favorite episode of TFTDS (Eat it Lobo). Something about this episode has always stuck with me. I revisit it often now. Great episode of Talks, as always! 🤘😬
This is a favorite because of the episodes mysterious nature which kept me guessing, but on the other hand I found it frustrating because the events seemed so random to me.
Man ive absolutely love how you guys cover these episodes, im always looking forward to them when they come out.
Thank you so much for watching! 🙏💚📼
This is one of the creepiest episodes, & one of my faves!!! LOVE the ending, with the girl accepting that she's dead, & trapped in some kind of limbo, on the train, as she goes "tunnel, tunnel, tunnel", while appearing as a skeleton. That is a creepy ass, & effective ending!!! This is one of the ones of which i wish there were more episodes, of this nature!! Next up is 'a choice of dreams", one that's not scary, but is pretty entertaining.
I watch every Saturday on Comet !!! This is one of the episodes i remember from childhood (I'm 42 😊) and it's still creepy
Thanks for the upload !! Haven't seen this on over 30 years..
Great episode/retrospective as always guys.
Thanks for watching! 🙏💚📼
Just ran through last 3 epis. Still never watched ONE TFDS but watch all the reviews, love it dudes. PS still waiting for a ALF review. peace and love MDU
Solid episode. One of the best this season. Didn't take long to figure out what was going on though.
The beginning reminds me of the subway level of Final Fight. Cody and Guy should be fighting gang members.
Skeleton conductor reminds me of the nightmare sequence in The Crow comic. Eric is on a train watching a horse. He tries to jump a fence but doesn’t make it, and gets sliced up in barb wire. Conductor blows its brains out turns to face the reader and you see it is a skeleton. The crow asks, “Nice suit, eh kid?” And Eric wakes up.
This was an excellent episode. This show had a way with its atmosphere in making things feel creepy or unsettling. While the show can be hit or miss it really does reach some pretty good highs when executed properly. Would love if you guys did a live show where you review an episode or two of this at the sherman theatre or something. Seems like it would be really fun
We would love to!
A live Talks?!?! I would travel for that. 💕
No creative outro this time, Chris? 😉 I do agree this is one of the better eps in the series. I'm excited for you guys to get to Sorry, Right Number. It's in my top 5 list and is another one that I think does the 'drama' well. 📼💚💚💚
I feel like this explains things: She's dead. She can't help but to get on the train - she is compelled and has no choice.
Most likely, but fun to ponder.
Are you afraid of the dark The Tale of Train Magic
Final Fantasy VI is my favorite game of all time. That was a great comparison to the Phantom Train Sean. It reminded me of that as well.
The shock word of this episode is Tunnel.
That's Joe, dear...
This is the only episode I've seen.
Also I like to think she was in the wrong place wrong time, makes it more creepy... Look up Train SCP it's kinda similar
Best episode of TV ever
This was a good one boys, and yes creepy is a perfect over view.😂👍
Sorry to bother you with this, but I know you're the editor for AVGN videos. Could you tell me the Christmas music that plays at 19:55 in his Goonies 1 & 2 video?
The song is Jolly Season by Home for the Holidays. AVGN has a music license for it but I’m not sure of any details beyond that. -Sean
This is a favorite episode of mine
The director of this ep. is excellent liked his MIlkman cometh ep. also directed the excellent monsters ep. a shave haircut and two bites.
I was curious what other Tales eps he directed.
This one freak me out when I was a little kid
i'll be honest & say that i Love TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE & TALES FROM THE CRYPT so Freakin' much that i'm totally Biased because there are no Bad Episodes in my Opinion,,,,i Love them All although there are some Episodes that are better than others
Quite good, guys
Coincidentally riding a train while watching this
This episode was very good
I swore I was the only one thinking FFVI, turns out I was wrong.
Question, where can I find this series or watch the episodes? Thanks for the help ahead of time.

It comes on Comet every Saturday 11 am
Tunnel.
yah saw her in heat, she's the wife of Danny Trejo , gets kaput near the end of the movie.
Freaky episode
I also like the one with the puppet clown 🤡
Watch him wiggle, watch him shake, like a hoochie coochie snake!
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉wtf
"last train to willoughby" 🎬🤌🏼
