When you see a emergency vehicle responding you should always treat it as if it was going to your house or loved ones

@@gunieapig2667 well and truly fit for a cover purpose, not so much for response duties under emergency conditions. You'd be hard pushed to see that in your rear view mirror, it's only the siren that's saving it.

Excellent light setup on that St. John's Ambo @ 07:28.
First saw that particular system in the NEAS a couple of years ago, and it's a shame it hasn't been rolled out as standard across all trusts which use Sprinter 519s.
that light setup is the "signature mark" of German ambulance maufacturer WAS for its 500 series.
It is actually quite common on trucks in the U.K. you’ll find a lot of 65-68 plate trucks in SCAS have this set up

@@Turbomgzt agreed they are only first aid. Although they are legally allowed to use them only fully trained paramedics are allowed to use the blue lights and skip traffic lights. There must always be at least 1 fully qualified paramedic to take charge when St John's are at events.

It's a great deal for the police too. In fact, all police forces could be using BMWs for almost absolutely EVERYTHING and it'd be cheaper than the current mix of makes now. The deal never went through because of public perception of the police in “luxury” vehicles...
AlphaDelta East when y buy so many cars it is probably cheaper than VW or Skoda... we only have Mercedes Sprinter at the EMS because they made the cheapest deal 😀😀👍👍
@@christian-jakobgrasl Yep, that's exactly what BMW were going to do. BMWs are already quite cheap in comparison from the Authorities division, but the bulk orders would've made them dirt cheap - far cheaper than any other cars!

Nice video - What I don’t get, is the total stupidity of the pedestrians who press the button on the crossings and or try to cross the road when they can see and hear the emergence vehicle approaching. The emergency vehicle drivers have enough to deal with trying to get through the traffic, they don’t need pedestrians all over the road as well.
Pedestrians, when you hear the sirens, stand back and let them past.
They should introduce the US Airhorns/ german bullhorns for these trucks - these will clear the road alot better...
I think the German martinhorns would be very effective
@@dragonemergencyvideos if they use the "air pressure martinhorn" then definitley yes! Usually vehicles here in Germany have both - eletronic for general use and the classic air pressure one for clearing the road and intersections etc

back in 2015/16 our fire station & a few other's was invited to a tour of the factory that were making the mk3 for lfb & what we saw for the up coming new mk3 rescue's are more beauiful than the dpl's currently..the way i can briefly explain it is think of the current light bar on the mk2 which is a not great & lfb knew that but could not do much about it at the time they were manufactored,not only have they improved the light bar but..well you'll find out in 2021
Down here in Cornwall, there's still a front line pump Mercedes that is an old R plate, that's 1997. Still used, still has its 2 tone horns as well.

One reason is because the Atego's are fitted upon delivery with an upgraded automatic transmission and dry clutch system by a company called Allison.
The Allison 3000 system increases torque upon engine start-up, and allows gear change without a loss in power.
They are also very efficient, have a less intensive service and maintenance schedule, and have a proven track record to fall back on.
Kind of like why the police chose vehicles which had Cosworth tuned engines in the late 80s and 90s.
We use scanias and dennis and volvo ame its a fire service/ brigade not deptartment

It's deliberately wired that way so the officer don't have to take his or her hand off the steering wheel. Very clever idea tbh
@@dragonemergencyvideos Yeah to be fair that makes sense. For the past couple of years I thought it was dodgy wiring, so maybe they reckon the sirens aren't enough then. It's made me jump once or twice when they activate it right next to me - I sometimes think they do it for a laugh :D

It’s also not uncommon to be single crewed. Not sure about London. But certainly in my area, single crewed is more common, even in the big vans

What is the difference between SJA at 4:43 and a Gov Emergency Ambulance?
Nothing really, just like any other private ambo
The NHS ones are primarily used for emergency responses to 999 calls, and will rarely carry out other duties. Private ambulances, like the SJA one, do various roles such as event work and patient transport etc. However, in times of high demand ambulance trusts may call on private companies or charities to provide emergency ambulances in a frontline 999 capacity.
@@ce9934 That's cool. We thankfully haven't had a time in Australia where we've had to call on other ambulances, despite St John having red lights and sirens (which is super rare for a non government organisation). And that's pretty good because most SJA Australia ambulances are pretty dumpy
@@Matthew_M11 Other organisations are always, and I literally mean always, assisting the NHS trusts by providing ambulances and crews. Over here, we spend millions of pounds each year on private ambulances because the NHS can't cope with the demand! Thankfully the majority are of good quality, although the service received is definitely not the same as the NHS crews provide.
