At the beginning of the video you said it had way to high of gears 5.29 or something… lol that would be an EXTREMELY low gear and would definitely help you out a lot

The carb is always going to be annoying but the best thing about those old toyotas is how easy it is to stack transfer cases. Get after it. (and get some rock sliders before you turn it in to a rasin). my 85 4runner punches way above its size/class. happy to see you get in something other than a jeep.

Having a super capable rig is great, but there's a lot to be said for sometimes driving something less capable. Obstacles that you normally wouldn't think twice about suddenly become a real fun challenge. If you do want to upgrade it doubling up transfer cases is pretty straightforward on those old Toyota's, and I'm sure Holly could sort you out with an EFI system. 😀

Ok, I think finding an RZ motor would be the best sleeper option. If you want to be WAY unique, you could probably be the first AR engine swap into a toyota pickup. There are millions of AR engines in everything from Camry's, rav4, hybrids, and SUVs. They are a transverse engine but people have already done adapter plates to put them on rwd manual transmissions. Papadakas made a 1000hp AR corolla. Or check out Frankenstein Motorworks for all kinds of junkyard 2AR info. He's currently trying to make a 2AR as powerful as possible NA with mostly junkyard take off parts
