The U.S. Army defines assault rifles as "short, compact, selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between submachine gun and rifle cartridges." In this strict definition, a firearm must have at least the following characteristics to be considered an assault rifle:
It must be capable of selective fire.
It must have an intermediate-power cartridge: more power than a pistol but less than a standard rifle or battle rifle, examples of intermediate cartridges are the 7.92×33mm Kurz, the 7.62x39mm and 5.56×45mm NATO.
Its ammunition must be supplied from a detachable box magazine.
It must have an effective range of at least 300 metres (330 yards).
Rifles that meet most of these criteria, but not all, are technically not assault rifles.
For example:
Select-fire M2 Carbines are not assault rifles; their effective range is only 180 metres (200 yd).
Select-fire rifles such as the FN FAL battle rifle are not assault rifles; they fire full-powered rifle cartridges.
Semi-automatic-only rifles like the Colt AR-15 are not assault rifles; they do not have select-fire capabilities.
Semi-automatic-only rifles with fixed magazines like the SKS are not assault rifles; they do not have detachable box magazines and are not capable of automatic fire.

I'm Australian I don't have second amendment rights only the privelige to own guns with ever increasing licence fees and tougher regulations, all semi autos sporting or military are banned including pump action shotguns, Don't expect freedoms and rights will come back once they are taken a bit at a time.

The only 2016 campaign promise that President Trump has not been able to keep so far is to jail HRC. All of the other things that you mentioned are new and just recently brought to light. It takes time to build a case against those people. Have patience, grasshopper.

Our Second amendment right to bear arms protects all of our other Constitutional freedoms. Once they take away your guns, they can take away everything else from you.
In reality they are doing gun control but in a back handed way. By convincing walmart to not sell ammo anymore that means you have to go to online sellers who are expensive and an additional hazmat shipping cost making the ammo 3x or more expensive then when walmart carried it. Back when Obama started they said they didn't want people eating meat...Sunstein said, if they don't want to stop eating meat we will make it so expensive they can't afford it... The same deal here, make ammo so expensive you can't afford it. A box of 20 9x19mm can easily run you $30-40 a box plus shipping and hazmat charges. So yes they are doing gun control but went through the back door and up...

We would love it if you lived next door. I cook so you could eat dinner at my house.. We would have such a good time. You ladies are wonderful. Protecting our rights must be our number 1 goal. You do a terrific job of speaking for us. I am 72 and still work 40 hrs a week for my food. Had cancer, hip surgeries, lymphedema and neuropathy. When some able body won't work and instead rob and riot I have no words.
