You might want to advise them ahead of time so if you're in a family gathering & someone pulls a gun to announce a hold up that no one screams out "For God's sake,DO SOMETHING! You've got your gun,don't you?" That takes away the option to help everyone else get out of harm's way before you decide whether or not to pull your gun.
