    For the column chart, you could also do a trendline for the target column bars, and hide the columns. This way, you can stretch the trendline through the entire plot area. And, the trendline method works on a bar chart too. I was impressed with the fake bar chart method though.

    • @steffenwei9926

      This. The trend line stopping in the middle of the bar is ugly. ( And I don't even speak about those arrows)

    • @techronology_real
      @techronology_real Год назад

      @@steffenwei9926 When you do the trendline, you have to right-click on it, format trendline, and set the Forward and Backward values to .5. This way, the trendline goes from end-to-end. Maybe, we will put it on the Techronology site.

    This is super easy if you use table, Great tip!
    I do want to add something since you have videos on dynamic charts using filter function... If you need it to be within a filter query, you can use HSTACK to combine your filter array with your static "Target" number in the last column (which can also reference a cell you update). That way the chart stays dynamic as all the data is within the same array.
    I've been fiddling around with dynamic charts that can switch between different measures, products, varying number of columns based on a user selection. It can get pretty complex! I'd love to see a video on tips to help avoid "breaking" the dynamic chart when a formula error occurs by using an IFERROR array to keep the array the chart references intact so to speak.

  • @fuzzylon

      So you are okay with continuing to waste labor re-creating basic visuals for your reporting? Sheesh, must be nice to not be a publicly traded company constantly driving lean operations as much as possible, bleeding your company of needless and frankly frivolous over spending when a more accurate and dynamic option exists that, once implemented or even more useful trained to your data analytics team if they're unaware, would continue immediately providing you a ROI on the said implementation by reducing said OPEX.

    • @j.ballsdeep420
      @j.ballsdeep420 Год назад

      @@Cra3ier -- it isn't the fastest once this method is implemented because you can set any chart to be dynamic and refresh upon opening, so should anyone add to the source data location or refrence it would immediately change and adapt to said new data being added because you aren't having to recreate it ever again. Would it be faster the first time? Probably, but your ROI would be short and once you break even from the manually method it simply becomes a net positive return on creating such automation.
