I'm very glad to see him fly away, and how much he perked up from a little R&R. Though I'm still a little disappointed that the people didn't check on him immediately.
Once we were searching for car keys for 30 minutes after we came back from the shops. Not yet all the things were out of the car when we realized we didn't have them. It turned out, 1st thing we did after coming home was putting ice-cream into the freezer. And keys with it.
Reminds me the last time I was searching for my phone ... but I had an excuse, I was on the phone so it distracted me and I couldn't focus on where I put it.

Oh Simon! ha ha. I had the same kind of thing happen just yesterday. I'm repairing/cleaning my late housemates Jeep to prepare it for sale, and I'd laid the keys in my bedroom on the bookshelf. When I wash the laundry, everything vibrates (mobile home) - and the keys fell, and I knew it, so as I knew where they were, I didn't immediately retrieve them. I had set up a small table with two PC's I was working on in front of the shelf. I went to "get the keys" and they weren't there on the floor in front of the shelf. I tore into all of the shelves and everything looking for these keys, and then found them dangling in the wires from the two PC's on the small table (which I had so carefully moved out of the way, the keys never made it to the ground.) I took hours looking for them! Ha ha... You're really lucky to have a Great Lawrie in your life! Kudos to him too. Glad to see also, and most importantly, how well the owl was after all of that.
