Feisty FOX needs emergency rescue after getting stuck in a fence!

- Sadly, calls to rescue animals trapped in fencing are a relatively common occurrence here. Whilst, thankfully, many are only wedged and just need a little help to wriggle free, some cases are much more severe and require medical treatment.
Simon and Lawrie were called out to help this feisty vixen after she became trapped. Sadly, protruding nails had left her with several nasty injuries and she needed surgery if she were to make it back to the wild.

Every time when I move into a new flat, I look around the yard and the fencing to make sure that it is save for animals. In our last place we rented we had to flatten about 20 nails that were sticking out, being a danger to wildlife. I became conscious about these things from watching Wildlife Aid. @Willow Cat why would they even do that? Don't go around making accusations like that on situations you know nothing about, if they purposely nailed the fox she would be way more injured, they said in the video she hurt herself with the nail when getting trapped in the "V"

I think the Fox was most worried about finding its way back to its favourite place, that neighbourhood, as when you opened the box to release it, she just stopped in amazement that she made it back there already. That was one delighted fox
I bet the fox was thinking where was that hole I got stuck in, I bet I will get through this time!

There is a way to move frame by frame if you watch a RUclips clip on a device with a keyboard. Pause the video and use period [ . ] to go forward and comma [ , ] to go backwards.
This really hepls a lot to read gthe hidden comments, so I am happy to share this advice.

I also use this weekly a part of my anti depression,it works and also encourages me to do nice things and help when I can. Most of his huge centre he financed himself. So great to see someone caring for foxes.
We have 4 or 5 in our garden and love having them even though they mark everywhere and are a tad destructive.
Shame my neighbours hate wildlife.
One side called someone to trap them before they had even moved in a few years ago while on the other side, many years ago, they put a wire trap down. Unfortunately one of our cats got trapped in it and came home with a half amputated leg. If I could have proved it, I would have called the authorities!
Don't understand it.
If you hate wildlife, go live on the 20th floor of some apartment block not a house with garden in a leafy south London suburb cos guess what, the wildlife was there before you!

Whoever is looking after her (someone is) must be so happy to see her back. Leave out food for a couple of East End foxes and then didn't see one of them for a few days and then she was back - she'd been spayed by someone. They are so well fed (I'm not the only one) that some evening they don't eat all of the sardines that I leave out for them.
I love to hear this gentleman tell the story.

It's so sad to see an animal injured due to something that people did or didn't do, like that open fence with nails. People just don't think about possible consequences for wildlife in leaving things unfinished like that, and it's the poor animals that suffer for their negligence.
